Complete Turkish Beginner to Intermediate Course: (Book and audio support) (Teach Yourself)

Everything is logically laid out, very well explained. Its easy to follow and does not offend your intelligence. It has a good amount of exercises to get you thinking about the grammar and memorise words. The Turkish used in the book is Turkish used in the country (as confirmed by my Turkish boyfriend), which is more than a lot of language books can claim to do. So if you want a hassle-free way of teaching yourself the basics before going out there - this book is a must!

Very thorough, it explains everything in detail so things that I didn't understand before now make so much sense. Different exercises and different ways to learn. I couldn't recommend this book more. If you want to learn Turkish you NEED this book

A few errors in the book but is a great way to learn

I love this book. To learn a language you need the right materials to suit you and this one was perfect for me. Right amount of grammar and vocab with each lesson and its arranged so its easy enough to understand. After just studying the first chapter a few times I was able to say quite a lot of things when on holiday in Turkey. I highly recommend this book for travellers and people planning to stay in Turkey longer term ts an excellent resource.

I purchased this book for my Turkish course.As my other half is Turskish.I always want it to learn it.As busy people-he dosnt have the time to teach at home.How ever its easy-to learn from this book.Teacher told us the basic of Turkish.And its very easy to folow.Great to learn from this by your self as well.I would recommend this book as your first book into the Turkish.x

This book is okay in its style and way of teaching... But there are several mistakes which can make it difficult or confusing for beginners, including the alphabet. I have had to double check with my Turkish husband on several different occasions for the correct meaning or way to say things.

This is a very good book for learning turkish. It contains many short dialogues with good explanations for the Turkish language construction. This is a good book for learning turkish.

Turkish is a very different language than the english or alike languages (germanic , I think they are called) but beyond the grammatic difference, even the culture difference is clearly explained in this little book (even the differences I could feel but could not really verbalise). I am very glad that I got this for my BF and he is learning a bit more turkish everyday.

Was under the impression that this would come with a CD? Unsure as to how i would go about learning the auditory side and pronunciation etc. Quite disappointing - i assume i will have to purchase the CD separately which is expensive in itself. EDIT: you are able to download the free audio through the TeachYourself website! Other than that, good comprehensive book, the Teach Yourself range has never disappointed, good for beginners and would recommend buying another grammar book or read-along-set to accompany it. I am using the "Elementary Turkish" book by Lewis V. Thomas to help fill in the blanks. Youtube videos are also a helpful source!

I’ve only been using the textbook for a little over a month and im actually learning things lol. I’ve been married to a Turk for 10 years and somehow haven’t picked up much of the language, the text is simple and easy to follow but I haven’t yet found where to use the online videos but it’s no big deal because I can refer to my old man for help and clarification
