A PSU tester is a useful, inexpensive “first-pass” tool. It’s great for basic checks: dead PSUs, obviously faulty units, or ensuring rails nominally output correct voltages before building a PC. Works great most of the time. Sometimes it starts to analyze then makes a pop and shuts off. After waiting about 15 minutes, I was able to use it again on a different power supply and it worked great for analyzing every plug. Then I tried it again on the first one and same outcome. Not sure why that one power supply shuts it down but if you have only that one power supply you want to analyze and it is similar to it, you are going to think it doesn’t work. Otherwise, recommended inexpensive tool! (If I ever figure out why that one doesn’t work, I’ll update this review -but don’t hold your breath!)

Excellent piece of kit. Got tired of guessing if a no-boot problem was the PSU, the case, or something else. After shorting the power switch on the mobo, this simple and cheap gadget saves me from having to swap PSUs.

This PSU tester is a fantastic tool for diagnosing power supply issues! The 24-pin connector is a snug fit, but it works perfectly once connected. The instructions included were thorough, written clearly in English, and made the process of plugging everything in straightforward. I really appreciated the beeps that let me know when it was ready for the 4p, 6p, and 8p connectors (didn’t try Molex or SATA, but I’m sure they’d work just as well). It helped me confirm a failed power supply—just keep in mind that the tester is powered by the 24-pin, so if the PSU is completely dead, the tester won’t light up. I tested it with a second PSU, and the device worked perfectly, showing accurate voltages. The only downside is that it didn’t include instructions for unplugging, but that’s minor and doesn’t affect its performance. Highly recommend this tool for anyone troubleshooting PC power issues!

needs better instructions. the SATA plug has no instructions on how to plug it in. so i plug the SATA with the wires Faceing down and no green lights . so plug the SATA with the wires faeing up and all the green lights worked. this could have been a dangerous problem for me ,but it turn out ok no smoke, the second problem is they is no clip for the 24 pin power cord to hold it in. however it does work good.
