Capable micro-controller as an alternative for ESP32
Wireless, cheap, flexible ports, makes for a real competitor for the ESP32.

Versatile small format microcontroller.
Changed over to these from Arduino Nano and ESP32's because they offer a lot more GPIO's, which I need for machine control. The programming via the Arduino IDE is straightforward, once the PICO board library is loaded, but the uploading is different from Arduino's. Being able to program dual cores is useful and enables the separation of input tasks, such as real-time interrupts and output tasks, such as Serial I/O , Bluetooth or WiFi.
