Qulose Surface Pro 9 Keyboard, Backlight Detachable Bluetooth Keyboard for 13 inch Surface Pro 8/X, with Trackpad/Pen Holder - Grey

For the $50 +/- price is an overall worth the price keyboard. Unpacking and installing for the first time was easy. The layout of the keyboard overall is very comfortable, although the need to continually pair the keyboard to the surface is a hassle. The bluetooth connectivity is lost every time the surface is close or put to sleep. The keyboard will not respond after the surface is opened even with the keyboard attached. I found myself having to delete the keyboard from the bluetooth list and adding it back again, all this needs to be happen while using the touch screen, kind of a pain. Overall keystrokes work great, the mouse pad is not as sensible as other pads I've used but it gets the job done.

Pros: I like the feel of the Keyboard and the easy Bluetooth connectivity to my Surface Pro 9 -- in fact, the keyboard will easily Bluetooth connect to any Bluetooth-enabled smart device (e.g. phone or other tablet). Also, it's a simply, low-end Surface Pro type cover gift for your High School or College student. Cons: The only 2 things I didn't like are the low magnetic connection 'snap' to the bottom of my Surface (doesn't snap and connect smoothly like the Microsoft Surface brand type cover) and that it the magnetic connection is kind of weak across surface of the bottom edge of my Surface Pro 9. The other Con is that, even though the type cover has a pocket groove for a smart pen, the groove isn't deep enough to enable the type cover to smoothly snap-up to the Surface's edge smoothly with other generic smart pens. I suppose the Microsoft Surface brand smart pen is flat-enough to fit smoothly within the groove, but not the generic pen I bought.

The keyboard connected easily enough but I was immediately struck by how sluggish the trackpad was. I figured I would get used to it over time but that turned out to just be the tip of the iceberg. Over the three weeks that I had this keyboard it showed a number of other issues. The most egregious is that it developed bluetooth issues where it just wouldn't respond periodically. It would only be for a fraction of a second but it was all the time. So I would find that I would frequently have to retype things or that the trackpad would suddenly stop working in the middle of dragging something around. Sometimes it would happen in such a way that I simply could not get double click to work. I would have to hammer on the trackpad over and over before it would finally send the clicks close enough together to register as a double click. The battery life was also surprisingly bad. I used the keyboard about an hour a day and rarely for anything that required a lot of typing. I needed to charge the keyboard about every 5 days. This seems unusually poor to me. The case is incredibly cheaply assembled. By the time I returned it, about three weeks, the edging around the keyboard was already starting to peel up. The only positive that I can say about this keyboard was that it proved to be a complete waste of money quickly enough that I could still return it.

The keyboard works enough to get the job done but it is very laggy when it goes to sleep. The mouse is also laggy at times which can be frustrating. Also, any keyboard case meant for the OEM version does not work with this one because the charging port is on the side of the keyboard. When this dies I will just be sucking it up and buying the OEM keyboard.

It's a great keyboard. I love the backlight function that can change colors and contrast as well. The customer service with the company was also good where I did have an issue in the happily assisted me with my problem. I recommend I deducted one stars because I've had issues. As soon as it detaches from the computer you have to reconnect it and lock back in. That's the computer will log you out. That may be a function built in to the computer itself for safety I do not know.

I am truly heartbroken that the backlit doesn't work. It works ok otherwise, but the RGB backlight was the selling point. UPDATE: i reached out to the seller and they were very helpful in replacing the malfunctioning one with one that works. so the replacement works as expected.

Does not connect well to my surface. Significant lags when typing and clicking.

I use this with my Surface 9/Windows 11. Well written instructions for setting up, set up was smooth and easy. I especially liked the light weight and functionality and responsiveness. Well made and great value for the price compared to other keyboards. Jay
