Great for my WIP
Love these. Quality paper that encourages my neatest handwriting. That's saying something

My favourite notebooks
These used to come in even more different cover colours... but the product itself is still the same excellent thing. I have the XL size - not too big, not too small, not too thin, and there's a pocket on the back inside-cover to hold slips of paper. There aren't all that many similar products out there that are so well made, especially plain paper without lines/grids etc. It's stitched not stapled, which I also like. I wish it was cheaper, but I suppose you have to pay a little more for good things.

Excellent notebooks
I have used these cahiers for some years, and over the course of two post-graduate qualifications. Needless to say, I like them. The cover and binding is durable - some have survived considerable battering. The size is a good one - not so large as to be unwieldy in a bag but not so small as to restrict the hand and mind. The paper quality is smooth under the hand, pen and pencil and, though not heavy, has substance. The paper tone is gentle on the eye. Excellent.

Pen bleeds through
Good size books with lots of pages but fountain pen bleeds through. I wanted to use this as a Christmas organiser but I can just see the writing through the page on each one.

I've searched high and low for the most satisfying pen to paper experience. While I can't be sure about the pen, I'm confident in the notebook. As someone who is left-handed, I often dread writing in cahiers. In recent years I've opted for loose hole-punched lined paper, shoddily amassed in a binder, if not forgotten about and left scattered among piles of articles and grocery lists. But the flexibly firm cover of this cahier gives way to a pleasurable note-taking experience at the desk, and I never have to worry about losing a thought that I've written down. The pages lie flat when you press down on the stitched spine, minimizing that irksome hill that inevitably protrudes from the centre of an open book. It's a rare and delicious pleasure to write comfortably so close to the spine. I was apprehensive about the thick paper cover giving way to wear-and-tear caused by constant travel, lifting the notebook in and out of my bag. However, this cahier has held up astoundingly well, to my surprise. The only thing I caution against when handling this cahier is greasy fingers and moist surfaces. That s*** will stain the paper cover and you'll be forever reminded of your slobbish proclivities. As for the paper, there isn't a ball point pen that won't glide effortlessly across it. I use inexpensive Grand and Toy medium black ball point pens, and each time I have a thought worth writing down, I get excited about writing it in my Moleskine cahier. There are few things more satisfying than laying down a thick stream of ink onto lovely paper. This notebook, line-free and generous in size, lends itself perfectly to the free-flow of words and creative ideas.
