Best dryer I ever used for my curls!
I have NEVER written a review for anything (okay, one book) so this should tell you a lot! I have fine, thinning hair. I got the Bellissima Supreme model because I liked the operating choices - low and high speed, 3 heat levels and Ultra gentle, which is a cool setting. And it looked like a better idea of what a dryer and diffuser should be. It is so easy to hold and maneuver . My hair drys more quickly. But the important part is the curls. It's amazing how much curl and fullness I get with this. I had a little learning curve as I figured out the best way to use it on my hair. Found some help from Erica at Coils&Curls.com. Now that I know what I'm doing, it's easy and my hair looks great. I usually have decent curl in the summer (yes, with frizz most times) but in the winter (which is what we are in now), I fight to get much curl at all. So now I have curls and very little to no frizz and it looks healthy and shiny. Eagerly awaiting the summer to see how it looks then! P.S. - I had just purchased a very expensive dryer prior to learning about Bellissima. Its blower is so strong that my hair just blew around and whatever curl happened got blown away. Useless. Pricey lesson (can't return it). But now I have the best dryer for my curly hair! I'm very happy I decided to give it a try. Having beautiful, healthy looking curls is wonderful!

A Bargain at the Price? No. But worth it? Absolutely!
My hair has been down to my waist for years. A couple months ago, after a new stylist cut my hair shorter than I'd wanted, I realized I had developed a wave pattern that the weight of my hair had been masking. Since then, I've been learning how to work with the new waves -- my hair is fine, so it doesn't take much for those delicate waves to stretch out -- and I'd started diffusing with a hair dryer already in the house that had come with a diffuser attachment. It was too hot for my hair even on the lowest heat setting and required me to diffuse upside down, which was problematic due to a health condition and which took a very long time. The results were mediocre at best, and when I had to go to work and couldn't let my hair air dry over a couple hours, it just didn't look good. So, for my birthday this year, I decided I'd buy myself the gift of a better hairdryer with a new diffuser. As I was searching for a different diffuser some YouTube wavy hair content creators had recommended, I saw this dedicated diffuser among the listings and was immediately struck by the design. With my short arms, I'd had to hold my previous hairdryer by the barrel to get it into the right position at times, and it struck me that a) this design would address that issue and b) with the bowl-style diffuser (the one I'd had had a flat top), drying would likely be faster and involve fewer contortions. I was also pleased with the lower heat output. There weren't a ton of reviews either here or on YouTube for the original Diffon model and were even fewer for this Diffon Supreme XL ionic model. So I felt like I was taking a bit of a chance at the price point, but Amazon's return policy was solid and I really only need a diffuser rather than a standard hairdryer, so I decided to go for it -- and to choose this model over the original. And so far, I'm thrilled with my decision! Why? Here's why I chose this one over the original Diffon model and what I love so much about this version. Let's start with the settings -- unlike the previous version (the DF1 5000), the settings for this model are on the bottom of the unit, not on the side, making it far less likely to accidentally hit a setting while diffusing. And there are more of them -- this model includes a cool button (the other version doesn't) that can be pressed once and doesn't need to be held down like it does on many hair dryers. The fan strength setting has a slider and the power button sticks out much more than the heat/cool buttons, so it's easy for me to ascertain by feel alone what I'm doing when I want to make a setting change while diffusing -- I find I don't need to look at the settings to use them. Since this model suggests it's for long/thick hair and mine is mid-length and fine, I didn't know if the XL diffuser bowl would be over-sized for my needs, but I find I can put much more of my hair in the bowl at once -- this allows my wave clumps to hold together better while pixie diffusing and has also cut my drying time by 2/3. My hair dries quickly but never feels "overdried" after I diffuse with the Diffon Supreme XL, and between the Argan Oil Ceramic and the Ionic Technology (the original model had the former but not the latter), I don't end up with a bunch of frizz or flyaways (my hair is particularly prone to the latter). The lower temperature also helps me avoid wave collapse when my hair cools -- something that tended to happen with my fine hair when using a regular hair dryer -- even to diffuse on its lowest heat setting. Because of the shape of this diffuser -- which makes so much practical sense, design-wise -- I'm also not contorting myself into difficult positions to diffuse and can easily move the diffuser into the position I want, even with my short, stubby arms. And the results? See above -- I went from having "half-hearted" texture to having healthy looking waves with comparatively little effort. This diffuser has finally given me something I thought I'd never have -- an easy hair routine with "happy-making" results! Happy Birthday to Me!!

Worth it!
I read other reviews before purchasing this dryer and for a curly haired girl it seems to live up to the hype! Less frizz, more defined curls, light weight and dries my hair at a normal rate compared to my old dryer. Not super loud either. Definitely quieter than my other one.

Can your hair be too curly?
I have never in my many decades of life seen anything like this on my head, so many curls from top to bottom, I swear I didn't quite know what to do with them in terms of styling (I have long mildly layered hair). However, this is a challenge I look forward to dealing with. I have used a dyson with diffuser, and a few other popular choices, but this one takes the cake. Some say it takes longer than the dyson, I disagree. It takes about the same amount of time if you have it at high heat and fan with occasional cool button. It is definitely only good for curly, but I find it dries very well. The cool button is not cold, just cool, which I thought was weird because I'm used to "cold shots" but maybe they are overrated? I did a lot of research and am convinced that the high heat setting and fan is still quite gentle on my hair because of how the blowdryer is constructed. Nothing blows harshly on my hair, my hair just sits in the large bowl and is gently heat dried. I could be wrong about that, but that is my opinion at the moment. It is definitely louder than the infamously quiet dyson, but it isn't louder than any regular blowdryer. It is so ergonomically friendly that I can comfortably do part of my yoga routine while drying my hair. It's much harder to do yoga with a regular blowdryer because it is just more in the way. Sorry for the serious yogis out there, I know I am not doing it correctly, but I am a realist. I either multitask or I do neither! I was kind of looking forward to not liking this blowdryer because my dyson was totally fine and I really could use the refund money right before the holidays, but oh well.....happy holidays to me. :-)

Pretty good so far
I'm 54, girl of the 80's so I've had my fair share of hair products. As I've gotten older my hair is a little thinner (fine) but I have great deal of it. And it's gotten curly (2C-3A). My husband purchased a Dyson for me at Christmas and I think the price of them is ridiculous since I really wanted this diffuser for a fraction. I chose this model over the other specifically for the cool shot which is actually not cool, but room temp (reason for my 4 stars). I currently have a Remington dryer which is absolutely great so I refuse to replace it. I used a attachment diffuser on the latter despite weight and bulk. I returned the Dyson and purchased this...My older diffuser was not as wide and had no actually "cup" with much longer "fingers", this one is wider, w/shorter "fingers." As for dry time, I see no difference from my actually dryer which I truly think is in part due to the size/shape of this diffuser vs the attachment. I do however see a slight difference in curl pattern, it's now tighter, again, I believe in part due to the aspects of the diffuser. As for frizz, at my age, greys frizz, weather frizz and I've tried everything in the book to control it, you can't, but this item has lessened this slightly, again, I truly believe in part to the diffuser size, shape, disbursement of air. Heat levels are fine, speed levels are fine, even though there's not much difference between medium and high. As for noise, I don't think it's much louder than my dryer, but it does have a slight pitch to it that my husband, who is a pilot, compares to the pitch of a jet engine (he's right actually, lol). Overall I am glad I got it since weight and convenience is great especially now that I have wrist issues from a recent break. I do however find the price difference between the two models a bit much since the only real difference is wattage (which lower wattage means slower dry time) and the disappointing "room temp" option. I'll be keeping it since it's a lateral change with significant amount of convenience.

Best diffuser hair dryer I've ever used!!
I just LOVE this diffuser hair dryer!! So easy to use and hold until hair is dry!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Well worth the cost!! The diffuser hair dryer is small and lightweight, it has no smell even from new, dries hair in three settings! Durable and quieter than my regular hair dryer with a diffuser on it. It is incredible and when used with the right products, gets those curls dry without frizz and the curls last for days and days!! Recommend this diffuser hair dryer for curly hair 100%!!!

Unbelievable!
Absolutely shocked at the difference this made for my curls. EVEN my BF noticed! It just makes water disappear and your hair dry? Wild! I used the lowest setting, and I dried my hair 3 minutes faster than with my Conaire diffuser. ZERO friz, defined, super springy curls, and tons of volume. It’s so light but the true blessing is the design and being able to keep your arms in a neutral position with elbows close to you and wrists in a natural position. If I had believed how good this dryer worked I would have bought the next best version with the Cool button. This does get pretty hot on low.

Results not worth the high price.
Facts about this diffuser: 1. Only has two settings. Low and lower. 2. Does not get hot, only warm. 3. Blower is not strong, definitely diffuses and makes beautiful curls. 4. I have shoulder length hair. Took 16 minutes to dry enough to “set” my curls, (still damp) so would not be suitable for long hair. My opinion: I like the look of my curls when it was dry, but took WAY too long. I loved the “no handle”. Makes for easy holding and storage. I would prefer it to get a bit warmer and have more power. Not worth the price. I get better results from my standard dryer with a diffuser.
