I tried this hair dye shampoo two days ago and so far I’m really happy with the results. The color came out exactly as described — a nice deep black that covered my hair evenly. My hair looks shiny and feels soft after using it, which I liked because some hair dyes can leave hair feeling dry. The application was very simple. It works like a regular shampoo: you apply it to the hair, leave it on for about 15–20 minutes, and then rinse. I appreciated how convenient that was compared to traditional hair dyes that require multiple steps and mixing. I did have a small delivery issue at first where my order seemed delayed, and a replacement was sent. The original package ended up arriving afterward, but I returned the extra one without any problem. Aside from that shipping confusion, the product itself worked very well. After two days, the color still looks rich and natural, and I would definitely consider using this again in the future. This product is amazing. It covers not only roots you can see, but the whole she-bang - the parts you can't see, like the back of your head. After years of using standard box dyes for roots, I'm thrilled to have found this product, which I find much better, for its full coverage. What you may not glean from the other reviews: 1. It's super-duper messy. The dye gets everywhere - on you and your surroundings. What I learned: To prevent stains on you, put Vaseline or a blocker cream around your hairline and ears. To prevent them on your home, cover all nearby surfaces (and then some). If you'll be showering the dye off and have a shower curtain, don't be surprised that it will get stained. 2. Use the little clear plastic dickey that comes with the dye to cover your shoulders and upper chest (it's like a short version of a dry cleaner's garment cover, but with elastic around the neck). But remember to smear Vaseline on your arms, chest, and neck to prevent serious staining. 3. The color coverage is excellent. The only thing it doesn't cover are those stubborn grays around the hairline. But what really does? 4. The dye comes off, visibly, every time you wash your hair. It also comes off on your towels and can drip onto your bathrobe. I recently traveled and brought my own towels - black ones, like they use at a salon - so as not to ruin my host's towels. 5. Some people reported allergic reactions. That will always vary from person to person. I'm okay on that front, but do find the chemicals a bit irritating just on day one. In summary, I find this product messy, but effective. A product improvement would be for the manufacturer to offer tips or product (i.e., better than Vaseline, which only works partly) to prevent stains - and more than two of those dickeys in the box.

UPDATE.Im in between 4 and 5 stars. I washed my hair and the color did not fade. I did notice that my hair got the chemical smell. I used my normal shampoo. It still smells like the color shampoo. That's why I'm in between stars. Anyway so after 4 days I think I washed my hair. In those days my hair did not get greasy(which it usually happens) it was not dry just my ends but that's on me damaging my hair for years. Anyway I recommend it. I just didn't like the smell after I washed it but I think some dry shampoo can cover it up. I will keep it at 5. If all of a sudden I start going bald I will let you know My hair is extremely dry,doesn't hold moisture and extremely frizzy. Before I used the shampoo I had about an in of my hair growin out which is grey hair. On the tips of my hair in the front I had discoloration from a previous hair dye. For many years I used hena and the reason I changed to this shampoo is because how my hair was just not wanting it anymore. I really just wanted to shave it off and start fresh. Moving on to product. The gloves it comes with trash them. Shampoo was getting into them. The shampoo does smell like chemical which doesn't really bother me. Lather it up and I did split into sections. I left it for 30 minutes just because my hair is stubborn. I rinsed it, did not shampoo since the box says don't wash off for 6 hrs I'm thinking it means my personal shampoo. Moving on extremely easy to use less mess. It covered my greys and the discoloration I had at the ends. My hair does feel soft. When I dried it no frizz. I hope it last long but there's enough for touch ups. You can still see how my hair is dry but it does feel different. I will definitely update to see how long it lasted and if the moisture of my hair changes. BTW after drying it it does have a chemo cal smell too but it's faint.

“Shockingly Good — Bye Bye Box Dyes!” I never write reviews, but this product honestly blew me away. I have micro locs, and I’ve tried everything — henna, box dyes, you name it. Nothing ever gave me that rich, even color. My grays always turned a weird brown instead of black. But this shampoo? Wow. It turned my hair jet black — glossy, even, and beautiful — in just 20 minutes. I couldn’t believe it. I’ll never waste time with box dye or henna again. This stuff works so well and it’s easy to use. Highly, highly recommend.
