Hell Freezes Over

The Eagles are one of the greatest bands of all time. The musicianship and song writing talent in the band is extraordinary. This album is mostly a live performance with a few "new" tracks (in 94!) thrown in. It's the live tracks that sparkle. The sound quality is sensational- equal to the original studio recordings if not better. One of THE best sound reproductions on CD I have in my collection. Compare this to the awful sound mix of the most recent 2020 Queen live album- this was recorded 26 years earlier! Every music lover should own a copy of this disc and any sound engineer considering recording a live band should be forced to study this disc in minute detail.

I saw the concert, Hell Freezes over on my birthday when the Eagles made their comeback. What can I say about this CD but that it is totally brilliant. There is not one bad track on it. I can't even pick out a favourite track. How can you even rate your favourite Eagle. Don Henley on drums and vocals or Joe Walsh, the great Rock guitarist, Timothy B Schmit's beautiful ballads and the superb songwriting of Glen Frey/Don Henley. The combination of the voices, harmonies and superb musicianship of the whole band transports you back to a time and place whne all was right with the world and summer seemed endless The Eagles are that rare thing, a group not just for their time, but for all time. All I can add is a huge Thank you.

Item in good condition at a competitive price and delivered promptly

after hearing track # 6 demonstrated on a good friend's very good quality Hi-Fi system in a decicated music room, I decided to order this CD. I was not disappointed at all and was blown away by the quality of the recording as well as the audio performances! As this is a live recording, I am now trying to justify getting the DVD version to get that live concert reproduced in my own living room!

As an avid eagles fan,this is a must have if only for the brilliant unplugged version of hotel california;which was my reason for buying this cd.Personally after a good start with Get over it, it becomes a little stale,As with all cds you find you dont like all of the songs.The hell freezes over tour was the last time the "hotel california" members were all together,and it remains an all time classic song,and this a superb version.When i play it it reminds me of seeing the eagles play this live.

I was worried this was another collection of greatest hits, but being a keen Eagles listener took a chance. I was so pleased I did. It may not be to everybody's taste, but I loved the treatments some of the classics received. Staying true to the originals, but adding a different touch. As always for me Hotel California was the track, but I enjoyed the whole CD. I also now have the DVD, which is again very enjoyable . . . maybe I am easily pleased, but what you see is what you get. Great stuff.

Great musicians on top form. Four new tracks followed by a live run through some greatest hits - and they are great. 'The Last Resort' & 'Wasted Time' aren't on my hits compilation but are terrific songs (guess I'll have to get all their albums). Like so much Eagles' work they are achingly beautiful, underscored with bittersweet melancholy ("call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye"). Worth the wait after their "fourteen year vacation".

If you love the Eagles, buy this album, it's live, when they reformed, and is one of my favourite albums.... Bobby_G

Da tempo cercavo questo album.... Ne avevo sempre sentito parlare, alla radio ogni tanto mettevano Hotel California in versione Live, proprio tratto da questo album. Il titolo fa riferimento al loro passato burrascoso: dopo il loro scioglimento nessuno pensava che una reunion fosse possibile, tanto che il titolo tradotto suona come: "quando l'inferno diventerà ghiaccio" ed era una battuta di uno dei componenti che aveva detto che per tornare insieme L'inferno avrebbe dovuto ghiacciare... Così è stato per fortuna nostra... La prima parte è composta da canzoni che non conoscevo, poi arrivano i "classici" loro, arricchiti dal Live: Da Tequila sunrise a Desperado, Take the easy fino a Hotel California appunto... Da ascoltarlo dove e come si vuole, l'importante è che il volume sia "decisamente" alto... Grandi Eagles...
