Not 100% Right Butt As Near As You Will Get It
I got this book when it first came out along with the And justice for all book,i stuck with this one more as it's a bit easier than and justice. It's again done by Cherry Lane,so you get very clear well spaced tablature that is easy to read and on the whole pretty accurate for the most of it. I disagree with all the reviews that it's that good and spot on,because this book isn't flawless. Certain parts of it leave you scratching your head, rythmn parts for 'battery' being left to the slash notes with the chord name stuck above it and the rythmn strumming pattern not bein specifically laid out, mainly the verse riff and the backing for the solo so if you want it perfect there are blanks to be filled in which can get annoying. The harmony sections as with all the other Metallica books do get a bit cluttered and akward to read if you are playing along with the record. As with all my Metallica books had to circle the note i would play on that harmony with a green pen and every subsequent note until the harmony ended. To basically make it stand out. All the songs off the album are here and for the most of it the transcriptions are totally spot on,all the solo's sound right when you play them and you should be able to pull off good versions of these songs from this book alone. If you want perfection you will notice the bits i mentioned earlier in 'Battery', a certain fast riff in 'Disposable Heroes' not being totally right as the pull offs are not transcribed, and the harmony section in 'Orion' just doesn't sound right when you follow whats written. Certain bass solo's in orion are tabbed out in guitar form too, but it doesn't mention that this is a bass solo so can throw you if you don't know which bits Cliff was playing, the amount of times i've seen guitarists doin cliffs bits as guitar and saying it was guitar not bass? Oh dear!!! Also guitar lines for 'Welcome Home Sanatarium' are misteriously emitted and not even mentioned. I got a Guitar World live sanatarium tab which has that missing riff section and it really makes sense when that is added and makes it sound 100% right. Butt on the whole a very good book,it's a great album with some fantastic riffs,if you want easy Metallica go for the black album or load era stuff. This is quite a bit harder but if you do some reasonable excercises for your rythmn and know some scales it will become much easier for you, and alot of downpicking there is. The solo's do sound right when you play them and you should be able to pretty much recreate the sound of the album with this book. If you want to learn riffs it's great, and also for major parts of the song too it's definately worth picking up. It's not perfect butt it does the job nicely.

Master Of Puppets Tab Book Review
Master of Puppets is one of Metallica's finest albums, and this tab book lives up to it's reputation. This is Perfect for the intermediate guitarist, with monster riffs and do-able solos, but also ideal for advanced guitarists, as the faster guitar solos require a lot of skill. From the epic Orion, to the thrashing Battery, the songs are enjoyable and are tabbed clearly and accurately. Both the Lead Guitar and Rythym Guitar are tabbed in this book, meaning you can play the 2nd guitar if you havent quite figured out the solo yet. Master of Puppets tab book is excelent, detailed, and will improve your guitar playing immensely.

This is the most accurate book on the tabs for these songs that i have found so far... i cant really think of any bad things to put down on this product so if ur into tabs and metallica then get this book. But be sure to get the more expensive one. the cheaper one doesnt have the feature with the cut in holes and binded up spine so that it may just open and stay there without u having to push the page out or put something on it to stop the page from turning. its quite annoying when ur trying to play the tabs and the page keeps turning.
