Love Shark Ninja - And this Robot Vac continues my Loyalty
I read the Positive and Negative Reviews. I was Leary at first with only 65% 5 star ratings. However, my PERSONAL experience with Shark Ninja Products took priority over ratings. I have the Dumb version of their Robot Vacuum already and it is 5 years old. Still Works great with only ONE Battery replaced in the 5 year time frame. I had an issue ONE time, and found the customer service quick and helpful. AND...my ISSUE WAS RESOLVED! Fast Forward to now and I've had this self emptying Shark Robot for a week now, and I LOVE IT! At first launch and adding to the APP, the mapping failed, as did the Robot WiFi connection. I blame this on TWO things that were NOT SHARK PROBLEMS. FIRST is that the battery arrived needing to be charged. This is only a problem because the "Mapping" of your house requires about 30 mins, and the APP wanted me to Map immediately after adding the Shark Vacuum. Hard to do with a near empty battery. (Also Note* I added everything at night and allowed the battery to charge. However, when I woke Up the next morning- it was like I never added the Vacuum Robot to the App.) My SECOND item is that I SHOULD HAVE done a power recycle (Reboot) of my phone before starting adding this vacuum to my Shark App. So, after a reboot of my phone, and with a Fully Charged Battery - I started the Whole procedure again FROM SCRATCH. This time it worked GREAT! Added the Robot to my profile, Mapped the house, set up my rooms, and then actually Vacuumed. Everything has worked to my satisfaction. MY ADVICE: CHARGE BATTERY FULLY BEFORE EVEN STARTING THE APP INSTALL AND MAPPING PROCESS. That being said, I have had the house vacuumed 3 times now, and I'm embarrassed to say how much dirt was picked up. It returns to base during the run to empty the collection bun (all automatic,) and then gets back to it. I did think it was done when it returned to the base station, and was a bit startled when it started vacuuming again on its own 2 hours later. At first I was convinced my robot was possessed by "Chucky"; but. then realized it was charging battery back up before completing the cleaning of the rooms I had told it to clean. So if this happens to you - Don't Call A Priest...just know batteries don't necessarily last long enough to clean the WHOLE house without a re-charge in between. I would 10/10 buy this again! Hope it continues to keep me this Happy! Stay Safe and Healthy Friends!

Caveat Emptor
I rarely write 1 star reviews, preferring to give the benefit of the doubt. But I will definitely make and exception in this case, in hopes of preventing anyone else from going thru what I have with this product. This is not my first Shark Robot vacuum, it is my second. The first one worked pretty well for almost a year, and there was an accident and the robot got wet. I called, and asked if it could be serviced, as I was willing to pay to have it repaired. The support person said they don't service them, but offered to sell me a battery. If the battery didn't fix the problem, I could send it back for a refund, minus shipping, which one way was almost half of the cost of the battery. I opted out. They offered me a discount, on a new one, but it was still way to expensive to buy it direct. Instead, i opted to check reviews and purchased this model. It took a while to get, as in over a week and a half, maybe two, so we were anxious to get it back up and running. I purchased the Shark because of how well the previous model worked. From the start it had issues. My house is large enough that it can't complete the cleaning run without return and recharge, a feature it is supposed to carry out. Unfortunately, long before it would get half way thru the run, the robot would stop, often in the middle of the floor, and the message would be my roller is stuck and I cannot move.... since it was scheduled to run while we were at work, by the time we got home the battery would be dead and it would have to be put back on the base to charge and try the next day. The next day, if I didn't check it before leaving for work, it would not run because it was disconnected. I had to hold the clean button down until it completely turned off and then put it back on the base to have it reconnect. The next time it failed it said it could not empty the dust bin. This robot is not very different from the previous model, which I had cleaned weekly for almost a year, so I am very familiar with disassembly and cleaning the robot, I checked, there is nothing blocking the ports and the bin was completely empty on the robot and the docking station. At this point I felt there was something wrong, so I called Shark Ninja, the wait time was over 90 minutes, so I opted for a return call. It took about an hour before they called back, and I was on the call for almost 30 minutes. The tech determined that it was a firmware issue and that the update would need 24 to 48 hours to run. He had me cancel the scheduled run, this was at 2032 local time on Tuesday evening. It was scheduled to run again on Friday morning. He told me this would be plenty of time, and that it should run just fine. I did as instructed, confirmed with him that the robot was on the dock, and not scheduled to run before Friday, and was connected according to the app. Fast forward to Friday morning, I prepped the house making sure there were no obvious obstructions, and when I opened the app to make sure it was scheduled to run, it was disconnected again. I thought perhaps this was a result of the firmware update, as I'm an IT guy by trade and familiar with electronics and firmware updates. I held the button down and turned it off, put it back on the dock and watched to make sure it said connected before leaving for work. I came home and it was on the dock, and my message was that it could not empty the dust bin. I checked, there was nothing in the bin, and there were no obstructions in the dock or the robot that would prevent emptying if it had anything to empty. I called tech support again, and the guy started making excuses that it takes 48 business hours for the firmware update and that it hadn't been long enough and wanted me to leave it for 48 business hours to see if it would update. I told him I was tired of waiting on them, and that I wanted to return it, which is an inconvenience in itself, and have them send me another one. He refused, I told him he could rest assured this was the last Shark product I would purchase, and that I still had time on my Amazon order to return it. I filed for the return, and it tells me I may have to wait another 30 days after they receive it before I get my refund. Buyer BEWARE!!! If you buy one and it works, great! if not, you will spend countless frustrating hours on the phone with Shark Ninja support trying to get a resolution. Me, I'm going to buy another brand. I've got a cheapo Yeedi at my business that works better than this! If I could give negative stars, I would!

EASY to clean!
THIS IS AN AMAZING HOUSEHOLD TOOL!! We have 5 dogs and after much research THIS was the best one. Key features I look for: * NO FILTERS to purchase. This filter is easy to wash. There is 1 filter but I blow it out with my air compressor each week. * NO BAG to empty! HUGE plus. * GREAT floor mapping. * SELF EMPTY and holds up to several days depending on your amount of fur. I empty it after every 3 uses. * Runs for an hour+ * VERY QUIET! * SUPER EASY to clean out. I have this and a handheld Bissell that I use my air compressor to blow them out and clean them twice a month. My dogs are Shepherd/Husky mix rescues so it's a lot of fur!! * LOVE the app where I can change and control the schedule. BEST ONE OUT THERE!
