I use clove oil for an oral application -- to make toothpaste. I normally use Now brand bought on Amazon. I thought I would save a little money and purchase this instead. The flavor is not good. It has undertones of black pepper and cinnamon. The clove taste is not front and center, but fleeting. The product states it is pure but in my opinion it has the taste of vegetable oil scented with clove. It also has the texture of vegetable oil on the tongue that I did not experience with the other brand. I am sure it would be fine for external use but for what I use it for, the quality is not acceptable. Also, for toothaches I find this to not be that strong and does not last nearly as long as other brands. I will admit price is great for a 4oz bottle. Probably best limited to external use.

Thus is really strong. It smells wonderful, I have used it in an oil diffuser and the room smelled like Christmas and hardly any is needed. Also tried it diluted for a mouth wash and it is really good but needs to be well diluted as it's really potent. Use sparingly .
