I got this as a first step into painting models and miniatures again after decades away from it and it's great. The only issue I've had with it was the lid is a little tricky to get back on if you remove it completely. It weighs nearly nothing but is sturdy enough and weighs enough to be a stable base for painting. The magnets are strong and the clips can hold pretty large model pieces. However, the clips are the only real issue - sometimes they just can't grip things well. I'm going to upgrade to a much bigger one soon.

I love this little magnetic holder set; I use it for painting polymer clay. The grip is nice on small objects, and the magnets are surprisingly strong. I absolutely love that the wire is adjustable, so I can put it into any angle for easy painting. So far has been durable, and is a good weight for holding light polymer clay pieces. I haven’t tried it with anything very heavy, but it’s very easy and convenient to use; no more paint on my hands!

Awesome item works great magnets are really strong comes in handy when gluing small parts together it's very sturdy easy to assemble and very easy to use and it fits well

The product does indeed work as advertised, however it isn't nearly as graceful as the description portrays. The bendable portion of the clip is very rigid, and if you don't get it bent at the exact angle needed, it likes to not stay affixed to the tray or will move your model. Due to everything being magnetic, it can also be tedious to try and put away. I would also add something to the empty case when using so it has a more solid base to sit on.

As of right now, I am letting a model dry while having the alligator clips hold on to the parts, and as far as I've gotten, this is extremely useful. I have used it for practice on a Gundam kit, and it makes things much easier. I like how you can take the rubber off of the clips, and how they can bend a large amount, and also come in a fancy sliding box. The only thing I can maybe complain about is them being maybe a tad bit too strong in terms of grip strength, as it can mess up a bit of the weathering or paint on whatever you're using it on. I haven't really seen it mess up actually paint, but if you use weathering kits applied by a sponge and brush, then it might be better to try and experiment in finding a better location to clip them on, or if you're patient, wait a while. TLDR; High quality, pretty efficient, pretty high grip strength, might mess with dry applied paints/weathering.

These things are great! The magnets are super strong. The clip strength is tight without being too tight. Clipping resin pieces for spray painting - will not break them, but they will not slip either. This stand is awesome, and I highly recommend 'em!

I’ve been building and painting models for most of my life and honestly wish I had found this set years ago. Up until now, I had been using the classic gator clips on skewers stuck into foam blocks — it worked, but it was always a bit clunky, unstable, and took up more space than I liked. This system is a total game changer. The magnetic base keeps everything stable and organized, the bendable alligator clip sticks allow for perfect positioning, and the entire setup is much cleaner, neater, and easier to work with. It’s made my painting process far more efficient and enjoyable, especially when dealing with multiple small parts. If you do any kind of model painting or assembly, do yourself a favor and pick this up. I can’t believe I didn’t switch to something like this sooner. Highly recommended!

I recently got back into painting miniatures(Warhammer 40k, god help me...) and these are really slick. I have little magnets in the bases for my minis, so I can either clip onto the base/part and stick it to the metal box or another metal surface, or stick the magnet end to the base and then clip the other end onto my airbrushing booth(which I actually do more often. Totally worth the money, in my opinion

Not sure why the other reviewer had an issue with these holding onto models, the clips are covered with soft plastic and work great, strong magnetic connection to base - great product.

I like the magnets & the wires seem quite stable but the alligator clips will rip the paint right off your model.
