Great - but on second time around
I ordered this on 02/12 as a Christmas present for my sister's terrier. It arrived poorly packed, it had obviously been dropped prior to packing and the blue rim around the top was missing, as were the balls. Very disappointing. However, Amazon's re-ordering was excellent and a fully functional, properly put together bit of kit together with the balls was delivered a few days later. The dog adores it. He hasn't quite got the link between him loading the machine himself and the ball launch - he still thinks he has staff for that! Other reviewers have mentioned the quality of the balls - they are very fluffy and a temptation for the dog to shred. My sister 'shaved' them. Think the iFetch is best used for attended play - it's fantastic entertainment for the dog and for his staff! Amazon's returns procedure was pretty useless. The courier who said they called for it, didn't. Once in process it seems that you can't alter the method of return (perhaps I don't use Amazon enough to know if this is the case) and I ended up paying £13.00 to return by good old Royal Mail.

A wonderful little invention
A wonderful little invention. The puppy is still a bit young to use it himself, isn't all that interested in the balls yet either, but not a fault of the device. I get a hell of a lot of fun out of it myself, and has kept the niece and nephew happy and busy for hours too. Only downside is its price, not would expect it to do a lot more for what it costs.

My dog is showing me the balls' place every evening
I bought by mistake the small ball version of this launcher and was a little worried because my dog is big. Rottweiler big. But he loves it. He didn't master yet the play-all-alone thing and he loves to put the slobbery ball in my hand first. But he is all happy and tail wagging when it's time to play. Maybe I wasn't throwing far enough for his taste. I won't recommend - though - to use the small balls with a big dog without supervising the dog. Mine doesn't have the custom to swallow things...but still. The balls seem different from the ones you find in the tennis department. At least he(the dog) chews them more. And they bounce a little more. Maybe it's about quality. The power of throwing....my living room(around 30 square meters) is enough to use it on the first 2 levels without involving walls and angry neighbors. Good product. Wish I bought the big version.

Great idea, my dog loves it and it only ...
Great idea, my dog loves it and it only took a few days to train her how to use it. The problem is the quality. The balls are poor quality and furr up really quickly and the entire machine stopped working and died after only 5 weeks. When i'm paying over £120 for a dog toy I do expect it to be a little more robust and to last longer than 5 weeks. To my surprise I was told as it was more than 4 weeks old I couldn't get a replacement.

Balls are terrible
The iFetch is a great machine but the balls are terrible. I have a 10 month Jack Russell and she can destroy a ball in one sesssion , making it very expensive. I have also tried Kong balls in it and she destroys these as well. iFetch need to improve quality of balls.

Great ball toy for the right dog.
Unfortunately my purchase from Amazon was lost in transit and was then out of stock so I ordered directly from iFetch but it was about the same price. The balls come out very quickly and they are quite hard unfortunately my little Chihuahua was/is scarred of it and avoids every time I have tried it. However, I have yet to try in the garden and given it's a large garden I am hopeful he will be less stressed, although I do admit my little chihuahua is a dog that scares easily until he gets used to things. For the right dog this is fantastic and despite my dog not taking to it I would still highly recommend this toy and will continue to work with my little baby to see if he takes to it if not watch out Ebay I have something else of my little dogs that he has not taken to.

Great idea, not quite right though...
This product is so expensive for what it actually is. I've just returned mine. After watching videos we were so exited to get this ordered and for our dog to have fetch whenever she wanted. However the balls are so tiny that she was gagging on them all the time. We were told to try squash balls as some people had success with these but these just jammed and become infuriating after a few attempts. After spending a week trying to get this sorted, we had to give up and just return it. If it was £20-30 for example we'd have happily just kept it and used to for summer in the garden, but at £130 i can achieve the same thing by purchasing a tennis ball.

Dog loves it
It's a great little gadget, does what it says and does it well, it does make a noise but it isn't loud or scary. Still trying to get dog to drop ball into it himself rather than beside it. Only gave 3 stars for value for money because I do think they are expensive for what they are, but the dog and I are still happy we bought it.
