This is decent product used on a trailer i redone. Water based primer. Drys quick. Painted right over it. Rolled on bed and brushed on decent.

worked as it should, wear rubber gloves when using and clean surface. looked great and easy to use.

I’m not sure in what world this would be called semi gloss, but it does seem to do a good job sealing rust.

Ok my opinion I wanted to test to answer all the questions that I didn't find One is it sandable? I found this product easily able to be sanded after it cured . two how does it work is it just coverage or is it actually chemically changing the rust? To me to be honest I think it is good coverage and does have some properties that helps etch into the rust but it will not convert the rust completely cuz you can see in one of my pictures that is after hitting it with a hammer working out a dent. You can see it covered well with one coat And is durable I personally used this as a filler primer To cover up all the imperfections and sanded it down prepare for automotive primer and automotive paint . So yes if you're just trying to cover up some rust to make something look good , it will would work and leave a good finish just be sure to do your body work and remove as much as possible sometimes a grinder is needed or it will look like my first picture, that has the bumps in the paint Those are heavy rust particles I did not scrape or grind off I did use a heavy duty power washer to remove as much loose as possible it is the inner bumper so I don't really care how it looks Because it won't be seen but I just wanted a Good heavy coverage to seal it with and to fill in and perfections prior to final coats So I give this product an A - pricing is very worth the value -it's pretty durable -Great adhesive properties -and easy to use If you plan to use on smoother surfaces and want a smooth finish I recommend spraying or using a roller because of brush will leave brush streaks. And in all pictures this is only one single coat added note! It didn't like to cover on clean bear metal so easily but the rusty surfaces loved it

It is not gloss goes on gloss dried to a matte finish.

The first item I used this Metal Preservative on was a 2" square Universal Trailer Hitch. This Hitch was carefully coated using the Hot Powder Coating method, however the nature of the product is that one has to drill 5/8" holes for the end brackets that attach to the Car's frame. Also, I needed to cut off about 4" of the 2" Square Tube to allow the hitch to recess properly under the car, I prepaired all the cut steel surfaces with this material, NOT: This material dries very quickly, so wear old clothes and protective 5 mil Rubber Gloves. It leaves a minor surface that is noticable with close fitting parts like fine bolt threads on a precise size hole ! Note - I also applied the material to the OEM 2" Class Four Hitch on our JEEP Grand Cherokee, which used to show some surface rust after use, This material has "fixed the problem" ( i had previously tried several of the spray cans that said they would prevent rusting - Internal surface Rust would reappear within 2 days after using the 2: hitch ball for my 16' boat.

This stuff is great. It renewed our box truck frame and bumpers. Made it look new!
