Absolutely NO PRODUCT SUPPORT!!! And I'm an engineer and don't generally need technical help. Read on for details on all I needed, but never got to speak to ANYONE. Called them 5 or 6 times and left 4 voicemails and was told someone would call back within 24 hours. Sent 4 emails. No replies. I could not log into the device locally with the monitor and mouse because I did not have the default admin password, and it was not in the instructions or on their website. I could not configure cameras without that. The web GUI or app did not do what I needed to do. Their support hours made it even harder to get help. Sunday 2:30 PM (Mountain) to Tuesday some time... Then Tuesday thru Thursday 2:30PM to 10:30PM. Obviously overseas. This is sad as I used to like Tenda products...

I really do want to love this NVR. I replaced my previous microseven NVR in order to upgrade to one that supports 4k cameras. This NVR does do that, but several of my other cameras constantly drop off. The product support is confusing as well. I cannot log in using the admin login because I don't know what the default password is. I've searched everywhere in the internet to no avail. The option to use the app to obtain a code in order to reset the password resulted in a notification on my phone that android 13 systems are not supported in this process. What what? Uodate, 1 day later. unit is still teasing me. It will be on and showing all cameras beautifully. And then some start disconnecting and sometimes the whole screen shows disconnected. And still no resolve obtaining the default admin password. I've tried everything, locking myself out once. Still no response from customer support. I'm about to remove a star and return.

This replaces my NVR from HiSeeU because its password recovery system bricked the machine. I was surprised how quickly the Tenda found my cameras. Cell phone app setup was easy and the QR code links the Tenda to the app. Installing the drive was easy.

I had been struggling with playback and access issues with my Hikvision NVR for two years. Frustrated by inability to access video after a security event, I installed the 16 channel Tenda NVR. Pulled the 2 TB HDD from the HIK box and reformatted it. The Tenda is not perfect but for the money is very close. Unlike the HIK, this unit found every camera on my network and after putting in credentials for each camera I was live. APP is stable and works perfectly. Desktop viewing of video has challenges. Only desktop browser that works is Chrome after disabling KYBER support but it will NOT view video on a MAC in Chrome. Not a big deal. Tech support is responsive and helpful. I have 8 cameras connected (all through IP / none physical) from Hikvision, REOlink and Tapo and the unit works equally well with all of them. I find that NVRs from camera manufacturers may support ONVIF but they play better with their own cameras. For the price, exceeded my expectations and four stars / not five because of viewing issues on PC/MAC platforms. The APP is 5 star

Can’t get it to attach to a camera. Absolutely ZERO Support.

We bought this because our other NVR died and this claimed to do everything it did, including smart PIR motion detection. It did not. It worked only with standard motion detection and would not allow us to connect through a raspberry pi to avoid posting footage of our house to the cloud to access it as we had before. It did not work with the access app we used to use on our phones and the only option was to divert through the cloud...again. It seemed good until we tried to use it. Now we're using a POE switch and computer software instead. Returning this.

It’s not a bad system, until you actually try and use the app, for some strange reason they forced you to log in and the delay makes the system painfully slow to use, especially if you’ve got an alert and need to find out what’s going on quickly. Super frustrating. Also, the app doesn’t have most of the common features you’d except and really limiting on what it can do.
