Is this different from the mic that comes w/ the X6700H?

if you are using the stock audyssey setup from X6700H GUI - you won't benefit from the custom calibrated mic. If you are planning to spend $200 on Audyssey X app from Microsoft Store (1 license per 1 AVR), then the results of the calibrated mic can and will be used by the Audyssey to produce accurate correction based on individual mic's calibration data. If you lost the stock mic and looking for a cheap replacement, you may save $ by buying the same replacement as the stock mic.

How rugged are these microphones? Mine arrtived in a crushed box, I worry the calibration could be affected.

They seem resilient so as long as there’s no visible mark on it, or the cable and jack plug, it’s probably fine. If the box took the compression rather than the microphone, you can normally see this when you first take it out, all should be fine. I’d probably take pictures and send them to Audyssey and explain what it looked like when you took it out of the box. They should know if it’s likely to have affected the transducer it uses - unfortunately they may just cover themselves and ask you to get Amazon to replace. If this shipped out of the USA this might be a pain to return. Mine shipped to the UK and the box was slightly dented - crushed sounds more serious… … good luck.

Will it work wirh Marantz surround sound processor model 7705?

Yes, the 7705 is on the supported list for MultEQ-X. Be aware that it is $199 to purchase a license for your processor in the PC app, then the additional cost for this mic if you want one that is perfectly calibrated.

will this calibrate a Marantz NR 1504 surround receiver

Hi, This microphone will work with the Marantz NR 1504, however, the recommended microphone is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZT3MR7G That microphone is less expensive and the NR 1504 is, unfortunately, not compatible with MultEQ-X software.
