Amazing service and product
Great product and even better customer service. I had an issue with the pen holder that was most probably down to my own inexperience with calligraphy and as soon as I emailed, Jill got back to me and provided me with a replacement including a handwritten note. I am so pleased with this purchase and look forward to experimenting with the different mobs and styles. Consider buying the workbook to accompany the pen and bibs as it is very helpful and informative for beginners!!

5 Stars!
Perfect! Such a nice little kit, my mum was given it by a friend of hers- and I ended up using it lots, and have now bought it for my sister in law, as it’s just so good! Lovely little tin, 3 great bibs though At first I thought there was one missing, but it had just wriggled a little and wasn’t as visible as the others! I really found the link to video tutorials helpful, and the little tips and tricks.

Cool Set
Trying new writing ideas. A lot of practice on my side needed- came quickly and arrived in good packaging. Just need to keep trying - would of liked more ink but apart from that fab

All in one set, but not the best content
I bought this set as I wanted to start as soon as possible and this was eligible for Prime delivery. However, as soon as I started using the holder and the nibs, I realised that doing some more research and buying better quality products would not have been more expensive and saved me some headache. First of all the items come packaged in lots of clear plastic, which is really off-putting. I am not sure what I am supposed to do with the tin - it doesn't fit the nib holder with a nib in, but then I don't want to constantly remove the nib. So it is pretty useless. What would have been helpful is a smaller tin to keep the nibs in. The nib holder is a standard, straight wooden holder. I had real trouble fitting the nib in and later realised that some glue had seeped into the metal parts. When I tried to force the nib into it, the paint on the holder cracked. And overall the holder just isn't nice to use. Even the super cheap plastic Speedball holder feels nicer because it has a slight hourglass shape, showing clearly where to hold it. I now invested in a pen holder with cork and it makes such a difference, especially to a beginner who is just learning how much pressure is needed etc. The ink I received was a bit dry and needed to be diluted, but as a beginner you would never know - it was only when I bought some other ink that I realised just how thick the ink contained in this set was. After adding some water, I can now use it, but then the little pot it comes in is very annoying - it is very narrow, making it hard to dip directly into it (you will most certainly get ink onto the pen holder), but when you pour it into another container the narrow opening makes it difficult to pour any left over ink back. The nibs are of course about personal preference and this set includes three Leonardt nibs. You can get the speedball holder for £2.15, 14 ml black Windsor & Newton ink for £3.85 and nibs from £1.20 onwards at specialist calligraphy shops and I feel you would get better products for your money and have a better experience trying your hand at modern calligraphy.

Very good product
Bought this one as a beginner. My very first set of calligraphy kit. Very good quality of both nibs and ink. The attached link to youtube was also helpful. Only drawback is that the ink is very less in quantity and the bottle is black so the ink level cannot be seen which if was visible would have been more helpful. A must buy if you are a beginner.

Ideal for beginners
A perfect little kit. The downside is the price, you can get definitely get a pen holder and nibs elsewhere for less. I do really recommend you buy the books by Kirsten that go with it too.

Good nibs but very poor quality pen. Wouldn’t buy again
I was excited to receive this product as the other reviews look good and the nibs are great. However, I realise a lot of the reviews have been written before using the product. The pen itself after one short use where I wrote the alphabet and four words, has completely deteriorated. The paint has cracked down the centre and chipped off around the top, and the ink itself seems to stain the pen if comes into contact. Since you cannot see where the ink line is in the bottle, it is very difficult not to get any ink on the pen. After one use, it looks like I’ve owned it for years. Not very impressed with this quality I’m afraid. I have other pens and take good care of them and this has not happened with them.
