Book case is gorgeous.

i originally purchased a like new set and the set came with tape on it and did not look like new by any means, but the seller was fantastic and reached out and set me a new set that looks great and paid to have me return the old one. Honestly as a mom this meant alot to me since i never buy myself anything and i am a MAJOR potterhead and finally had the money to purchase something that i really wanted. So I am beyond happy with the seller and the product.

I was a little leery after I ordered these when I read some of the reviews (missing pages, broken boxes, dirty books, etc.). However mine arrived very well packaged and in pristine condition. I actually flipped through every book to make sure there were no missing pages (there weren't). I do agree that the one drawback is how tightly they fit in the case; they are impossible to remove without turning the case over and SHAKING out the books. They might have given a scant 8th of an inch of breathing room so the books are easier to get out without risking damaging either the books or the case. I am excited to reread the series in the UK version (had to laugh when I saw one reviewer say she was convinced the books were counterfeit because the first book has a different title than the American version - well, yes! It was the US that changed the title of the book in our versions - still not sure why they did.) It will be fun to see if I am thrown by any of the British terms, although I am pretty familiar with a lot of them (lorry=truck, lift=elevator, jumper=sweater, biscuit=cookie, etc.). Giving this a 4 star because of the fitting of the case and because I haven't really opened them yet to see if the bindings hold up (another criticism). But I wonder if there wasn't a really poor run of the books that caused the printing and binding errors and maybe they have corrected those issues now. So far, highly recommend this version of the series.

Super books for kids (from 9y old) to adult. Much better and deeper than the movie. The packaging is so nice. My daughter loves it!

I owned the german editions for up to 25 years now, so they have a very sentimental value to me. But i wanted the english edition too, and i found this hardcover box set. The price was reduced, so i couldn't resist! It's really gorgeous! The box is beautiful and i really like the coverart of each book. They seem to be of good quality, too, but i guess time will tell :) The only thing i don't like - but that's just a personal preference - is the size of the books. They are a bit smaller than regular hardcover books, and something just doesn't feel right when holding them. Of course this is a childrens edition, so it makes perfect sense, but i would have loved them to be of regular size :)
