Monster-Sized Hellboy

This omnibus is a must own. It doesnt collect the short stories however.

The story and the artwork themselves are amazing. The delivery time was amazing and the upscaled artwork is awesome. .the real issue with it is that it's so large it's just completly past the point of being practical. It's next to impossible to read anywhere but at a reading desk. This book is an awesome shelf piece but is you wanna read these stories for the first time I'd say you should just get the library editions.

This edition of the book is amazing. The art is bright, big and vibrant. If you want to collect the hellboy graphic novels/comics without mucking around finding them all then this is it. The frames of the art are huge - when I saw huge I mean HUGE. Concerns about spine strength were laid to rest when I held the book as it feels both flexible and strong at the same time. The one obvious thing to be warned is that this book is heavy. It’s bulky and sometimes hard to read depending on how you’re sitting/lying down. It is called the Monster Sized edition so this should all be expected. While the material is great - this book serves as a massive statement piece in any collection. Also, for some reason Amazon is selling it for significantly less than the original retail price (roughly 194.99 CAD) Please, if you want to read the Hellboy series…this is it. To my understand it’s not the entire series but the essential material. I’m going to take my time reading it because it’s just such a spectacle to hold and read. Thank you Mike Mignola and to the printing company. It really is something and I’m glad I went with this edition. The library editions also look really great - just more expensive and felt this version was befitting of the source material. Happy Reading!

Der Name ist hier Programm. Ein Buch so gewaltig und schwer, das es abgelegt werden muss. Inhalt sind die Hellboy Omnibi 1 bis 4, allerdings ohne sketchbooks. Dafür ist das Format eine grafische Freude und das Buch gut gebunden. Der Preis ist für über 1500 Seiten in Farbe und Großformat auch ok. Definitiv etwas für Hellboy Fans 😃

The 'Monster Sized' label is appropriate, this is one big, heavy tome! I was super impressed with the extra cardboard packaging around it, ensuring that it turned up in mint condition - No bent corners, creases or damage from it's own weight. Mignolas work on Hellboy is a 1500 page masterpiece that positively shines in this glorious format - I love the red bookmark ribbon too, nice touch! A great collection that should be on every comic fans 'must read' list.
