Love this stuff! I pour it into a spray bottle with a tiny bit of dimethicone, shake it up and spray on the length of my synthetic wigs, which I wear daily. It’s extended the amount of time I’ve been able to keep my wigs looking new and like healthy hair for up to 3 months or longer in some cases. This has saved me a ton of money, because designer wigs are expensive. Pretty amazing!

perfect for making diy room spray; my 16oz recioe chat gpt made up for me only calls for 1 tsp of this so the bottle will last a long time and it is much more cost effective to buy the ingredients and make it myself when i did the math

I have a wonderful recipe for skin cream that is based on dimethicone rather than triglycerides. It leaves the skin silky and soft, but not greasy. Such is the magic of siloxanes. Dimethicones, depending on molecular weight, can range from a light oil to a waxy solid and tend to stick around on the skin, providing a silky slip feeling. Cyclomethicones, on the other hand, are volatile siloxane rings that will evaporate rapidly after exposure to warmth and air. They're best used in formulations where the end result is supposed to be dry, like deodorants. They can also act as solvents for other siloxanes like the heavier, waxier dimethicones with the added benefit of being fully miscible in alcohol. I have to admit, this is my first time working with this stuff, but I am seriously impressed at the possibilities this product opens up. Of course, I will always stick to known safe formulas before attempting to formulate my own recipe, but I am excited to incorporate this interesting new ingredient into my toolkit. The bottle arrived on its own (no box) and contains a clear, volatile liquid that I can only assume (for lack of a gas spectrometer) is cyclomethicone. I tried using it as a solvent/emulsifier for dimethicone and it worked quite well. I can't wait to use it in a deodorant recipe.
