Such a smart idea!
Our new Golden Retriever loves to devour a bully stick but I watched her swallow down the final couple of inch piece and was super concerned she was going to choke. That’s when we picked this up. The treat gets tightened in there for a super hold and not only prevents her from gulping down that last, oversized bite but gives her something substantial to hold in her paws as she goes through her process of slowly picking away at every delicious nibble. I highly recommend that you consider this low cost but effective little addition to your pet’s toy box. The price is good and it seems to be really durable. I believe it will be around for a while.

Safest way to Enjoy a Bullystick!
After my 105# GSD came to me with a 6 inch bullystick going down her throat, after gently removing it, she knew to come to me calmly. I had to find a safer way for her to enjoy a bullystick. Going to my go to shop AMAZON, I found this wonderful toy/holder. Before this holder, I would throw away about 4-5 inch bullystick as this size fits down her throat. Now I throw away about 2 inches as I'm getting pretty good at securing the bullystick. It also doubles as a chew toy! If you have a chewer, I would definitely buy this holder.

#2 out of four I tested
There are many variations of Bully Stick (BS) holders, and I couldn't decide between four of them that are all pretty similar. So, I decided to buy all four and try them out. Full disclosure, my testing was done only with 7" BS's, which naturally vary in diameter. All four holders are pretty good, but there are some differences worth considering. This is how I ranked them. #1 (GoSports [Red] - 5 stars): The best of the bunch. Due to the narrow oval shape of the opening, it's very easy to load the BS and get it aligned with the clamp, regardless of the diameter of the BS. The handle for the clamp is very large and easy to get a good grip to twist it down tight. The tip of the clamp has a flat surface, which makes it easy to get a good hold on the BS without having to align on the BS groove. The clamp also does not loosen or back-off once tightened. This all allows for minimal BS waste. The plastic material is very tough and holds up to gnawing that can happen after the BS is chewed down to the nub. It's a good size for my 65 lb. Lab to hold down with her paws when chewing the BS. #2 (ChewEasy [Light blue] - 4 stars): Similar to #1, and works well, but what I like less about it is that the round vs oval opening makes it not quite as easy as #1 to get the BS aligned with the clamp. Although, this might be preferrable if the BS's you buy are really large in diameter. The clamp handle is smaller, so not quite as easy to tighten down as #1. With the ends of the holder being smaller, they're also easier to gnaw on by the dog. #3 (BoniVet [Green] - 3 stars): This one has the advantage of being able to screw the tip of the clamp all the way through the other side of the holder, which does allow for a tight clamp. However, I found I didn't really like the pointy clamp tips as much as the flat ones (like #1 and #2). With the pointy tips, you have to get it aligned with the groove of the BS to get a good hold, and that is not always easy with smaller diameter BS's. The other thing I didn't like about this one is that even after the clamp was tightened, it sort of loosened on its own. The narrow plastic parts around the holder opening also seem susceptible to gnawing damage, although I haven't used it enough to say if it's a real problem. #4 (Bow Wow Labs [Dark blue] - 3 stars): This was actually the first style I bought, but there was enough I didn't like about it, that it caused me to look at the others. As mentioned with #3, I don't care for the pointy clamp tip. The round opening versus oval is less desirable for small BS's but may be needed for larger ones. The clamp itself does not screw in far enough to completely close the gap, so some of the smaller diameter BS could not be tightly clamped down, and my dog was able to get them out and swallow the BS nub. This probably only happened less than 5% of the time, but it sort of defeats the purpose of the holder. Also, the clamp can only be adjusted with your fingers, not your whole hand, so it's a little harder to tighten and loosen than the others. The edges on the ends of the holder are hard, but easy to gnaw on. So, this model is probably OK for really large BS's, but I found it less useful for the smaller ones.

Holds jerky treats too!
My dog is OBSESSED with this toy. Perfect for my 4 month old velociraptor/boxer mix who thinks it’s perfectly acceptable to chew a tough as leather jerky treat twice and swallow it whole. I’m not talking about those extruded jerky treats just to be clear, but ones made from single whole pieces of real chicken or beef made specifically for dogs that you can buy on amazon that are about 6” long and 1/4” thick. I bought the large one. It takes a bit of work to get some of the wider jerky treats in, but that is the point, you don’t want it coming back out easily either. It’s a sturdy toy so far. It does have some of his teeth marks in it already but it hasn’t impacted the ability turn the screw to tighten it. That being said, I don’t leave the toy laying around when there isn’t a treat in it because my pup still wants to chew on it despite being empty because he’s positive there’s a speck of jerky left in there somewhere. I plan on buying a second one for my upstairs office for him. Definitely recommend!

My Pup has a hard time holding
When bully stick is put in holder, it is a bit off center and my pup has a hard time holding while chewing on it. Otherwise it works okay.

One of the best dog purchases I've made
This is awesome. My small pups had a tendency to swallow large pieces of chew sticks and then end up throwing up or choking. This holder secures the stick really tight and you can decide how far and if you want the stick out on both or just one side. My dogs actually didn't mind it at all from the first time. Plus they are very durable so it doesn't get chewed up easily. Definitely worth the price for the safety value.

This device holds the Bully Stick very securely. Neither of my dogs have been able to get the stick out of the holder. The part that locks in the stick can be made very tight. The device is a nice texture for my dog to grip while he chews. It’s very easy to use.

Sturdy! My dog is safe to chew his bones now and I don't worry about him. It holds tight and it has been our go to since it arrived.

So I have 2 large dogs 1 is 4 years old and it did what we expected in that it slowed him down and prevented him from eating the last chunk (we placed it in the middle though so he had to chew both sides) the part we didn't think about is in addition to that the 10 year old loved it as he could chew but didn't have to worry about dropping it as it held it up a little so he could lay down with it.

My dog gets lazy with chews so could only buy soft ones, got this to hold the end so not swallow and try choking herself.
