I had the business end of my last remote shutter release drop into the Surrey Quays Dock, so no way I was ever getting that one back! I bought this as I had one previously and the trigger is moulded on to the cable - much more secure. It works exactly as it should, and an added benefit is that you can lock the shutter open, ideal for long exposures.

While this made of fairly thin and flimsy plastic, it works. The button has a relatively clear and positive action that lets you distinguish between a half-press (to focus) or full press to fire the shutter. If you just want a cheap cable release for occasional tripod shots, this is not a bad option.

Works great

What I was looking for was a cheap, simple remote shutter release for my Olympus OM-D E-M1 mark ii camera. This product delivers on that requirement. It plugs into the socket on the right side of the camera using an angled jack plug and allows you to be a little more than 24in (600mm) from the camera. The item is unpowered, taking its' power from the camera. The control end of the cable does feel a little lightweight, but it does the job and, importantly for me, it can be locked by pushing the button upwards. Locking is confirmed by a red indicator bar being visible (see photo). The normal shutter buttons on both the camera and my battery grip are both locked when the remote is locked, but can be used normally when the remote shutter release is unlocked What more can I say?

Cheap and cheerful but does the job so it is fine

It works well. However it will not fire a camera if that camera is set to back button focus. This is to do with olympus carers settings and not to due to any fault with the product

Works well with OM-1 MK ii for stacking

Don't get me wrong, if you want a cheap remote control, then this works a treat. It works as you would expect, half press for focus, full press to take photo, you can also lock it for the Bulb setting. Please be aware the quality of the plastic is very poor and I can't see it lasting very long. I can't recommend this remote unless you want one for a project you only want to do once.

Erg handig. Stekker er in en het werkt. Geen gedoe met een telefoon of iets dergelijks.

Unspektakuläre, tadellose Funktion an der OM-5 II. Der Taster hat einen relativ unklaren Druckpunkt, d.h. halb drücken zum Fokussieren ist tatsächlich eher schwierig, aber idR hat man ja bei Verwendung eines Fernauslösers zuvor (manuell) scharf gestellt. Von daher dafür kein Punktabzug.

純正品は高いので、シャッターさえ切れれば良いと購入してみました、今のところ問題なく使えています、ちょっとチープな感じですがとにかく安いのでそこは承知の上、後は耐久性の問題ですが毎日使う訳ではないので、数年使用できれば良いなと考えます。

Fonctionne très bien sûr un Olympus EM1 iii, avec la gestion de l'appui à mi-course. Par contre, même si c'est le même connecteur, ne marche pas sur un Lumix S5

Der Auslöser funktioniert an Meiner Olympus E-M1X tadellos. Ich habe ihn gekaufte um Bracketing-Aufnahmen mit bis zu 700 Bildern damit zu machen, die dann mit einem Stacking Programm zu einem Bild zusammengefügt werden. Dazu muss manuell ausgelöst werden - deshalb habe ich den Auslöser geöffnet (3 Schrauben unter dem Aufkleber der Rückseite), das weiße Kabel für den Autofokus abgelötet und es funktioniert viel besser, als mit der Fernsteuerung per WiFi mit der OI.Share App auf dem Smartphone. Die App verbraucht so viel Strom bei den Aufnahmen, dass das Handy warm wird. Die WiFi Verbindung kommt manchmal erst nach mehreren Versuchen zu Stande und bricht gelegentlich ab. Das Handy ist während der Aufnahmen nicht für andere Aufgaben nutzbar, weil sonst sofort das WiFi abbricht und die Aufnahmen stoppen. Deshalb bin ich mit dem stromlosen Drahtauslöser sehr zufrieden.
