Awesome little cpu with best value for performance
Best Value for your dollar. very easy to install, 8 cores but doesn't get too hot. only 75watts during gaming so even bad air coolers can handle it. Most games i played hover CPU between 65-70c and that's with old air cooler and very old restrictive case, at idle or web browsing it doesn't go over 40c for me. it usually doesn't go over 75watts. even when i multitask with stream + browser + game open or editing videos highest i saw was 72c. i went from i7 4770k to this 7800x3d and performance jump was insane, i gained over 100% average fps in cs2 at 1440p and new games went from unplayable to smooth 120+ fps. not even worth looking at other Non-x3d Cpus if you are a gamer. get this and you are set for next 10 years.

A superb CPU for gaming and professional work
This CPU is great, it blows my older Intel i3 out of the water in terms of performance and functionality. This CPU is overclockable and can be undervolted. In gaming, it’s great and in professional work it’s great with the only real caveat for professional work being the lack of extra cores and threads. The temps can get pretty high under load so it’s advised you use a comparable cooler to keep the temps down. I recommend either a dual tower air cooler or an AIO liquid cooler (or custom loop if you’re feeling fancy) If looking to buy a high end Ryzen CPU and don’t know which one to get, I recommend either this CPU or the 9800X3D, You won’t be disappointed. If you’re more professional focused, the 9950X3D is probably the better option with its 16 cores compared to the 7800 and 9800’s 8 cores. Overall a very fast CPU for excellent performance in gaming and intermediate professional applications. 10/10

Definitely will be buying AMD over Intel from now on
This CPU is really decent. For the price you can't beat it. I do experience some hitching, but I'm not sure if that's just my settings and the fact that I haven't tweaked it enough, or what. The benchmarks that I'm running indicate that I lost the silicone lottery on this chip, but even with that, it still runs to spec just with a little more power. It complements my 5080 very well. It was a super easy install, however I did mistakenly think that it would work with my old AIO. So I had to run to Best buy to buy a AIO that fits it I also learned that you don't actually overclock this card you undervolt it in a way that's controlled by their motherboard through the AI tweaker. I don't really know what to say as far as the heat generation because I have the 360 mm AIO that Corsair sells and it is a monster. I went from the 10700k to this and am astonished.

It’s a 7800x3D… buy it
This CPU is one of the greatest. I wanted to get the 9800x3D when they first came out but obviously they were all snatched up by scalpers and big builders. “Settled” for the baby brother (which at the time was still hard to get ahold of at a decent price). Been running this for about a year now and can’t say anything bad about it. My system is 100% air cooled with this chipset being cooled by a Peerless Assassin. Most of the time fan noise is minimal or not at all unless under heavier load (but that’s usually for games and I’m using a headset so non issue). System boots quick and has been very responsive, no issues with crashes or hangups. Handles games (primary reason I purchased) as well as some moderate 3D modeling and CAD (Solidworks) without any noticeable strain. Solid performance, and would purchase again if I was building another system now. I would recommend this chip to friends and family looking to build/buy a solid gaming rig at any performance level.

The 7800X3D is the GTX 1080Ti of AMD, Ridiculously Efficient & Powerful.
I recently upgraded to this CPU from an i5-13600K, I mainly use my PC for Gaming and Streaming, mainly Fortnite at high refresh rate, my 13600K would often drop below 200Fps while streaming and causing stutters, this one rarely ever drops below that, only in the most intense of situations but unlimited it gives me 300-480FPS on average sometimes higher reaching 600 and 700 depending where on the map. I was in between getting this 7800x3D or the i7-14700K but seeing how many users reported degradation issues with intel 13th and 14th gen, I decided to go the safer route which was the 7800x3D CPU, it shreds through gaming and it does gracefully & efficiently by consuming less energy, it's very energy efficient stock and I heard it can be even more efficient/cool with a little undervolting done the safe/right way, it could sustain higher boost clocks! I paired this CPU with the MSI B650 Tomahawk Wifi and Teamgroup's 32GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 for those who are curious, Expo worked like a charm, PC spent around a minute memory training during first boot, from button press to lock screen it takes around 25-30 seconds on a relatively slow 2.5'' SSD from Crucial 300-500mb/s (nvme ssds have at least 3500mb/s read/write nowadays) also I have fast startup enabled. Something to keep in mind is, due to the 3D Cache in this CPU, the main sensor your motherboard will be reading from this CPU is: CPU (Tctl/Tdie), by design it's made to be higher than all your other core temps, there is no issue with that as it's by design and normal, but I mention this so you don't get worried when you notice your CPU fan cooler fans ramping up a bit often, that sensor reports around 10-15C higher than all other cores, so it's something to keep in mind! You can still adjust fan curve in BIOS according to this and you'll be fine. I live in a hot climate so fans ramp up a bit but it's normal and still safe. Monitor temps and clock/frequencies with HWiNFO64, If you are like me and came from an intel CPU previously, the software Core Temperatures will not report individual core temperatures like it did with Intel CPU's. Just a heads up there. All in all, 10/10, this CPU was an investment and I'm really enjoying what it brings to the table!

Chose the 7800X3D as the 9800X3D was just too expensive for the bump in performance. After liquid cooling it via AIO, it's runs cool. Idle temps at 40, never going above 75 for intensive stuff.

Kinda pissed because I was just assembling my new build at night Opened the box, label at the opening part was already ripped... Just no CPU at all, only the manual and some paper
