For the record, I am reviewing the: ANENG Digital Multimeter with Case,DC AC Voltmeter,Ohm Volt Amp Meter,Measures Voltage,Current,Resistance,Continuity,Diodes,Electric Tools for Househould Outlet,Automotive Battery Test After reading the reviews I was expecting the lead wires to be really weak and low quality, and they turn out to be just that but they are holding up really well and the connectors are also pretty good. I have used this multimeter about 20 times already and I love it. It is very easy to understand, is very accurate and it works great. For the price I am really happy with it. My last one the lead wires broke, the connector got damaged easily and it was just a piece of crap, this one I think will last me a while. I am happy and can recommend it.

Backlight doesn't work but other then that, seems good and in working order.

I was looking for an inexpensive multi-meter, and I certainly got that.. It does what it's supposed to do, and seems accurate for the few things I've tested it on, so far.. I do like that it has a softer plastic "surround" that offers some protection if it gets knocked around, although ~that~ is the case that is mentioned in the title of the description.. I was expecting something a bit different for a case though, tbh... I also like that on the Continuity setting, you get both a beep noise (actually loud enough to hear) AND a red light illuminates.. Very easy to immediately see and hear when you have a good circuit.. As others have mentioned, the molded-in probe mounts are a bit distorted, so it takes a moment of work to seat the probes.. They're adequate, but not great... THE one thing I'm really disappointed in (aside from no case) is......there is NO BACKLIGHT for the LCD screen on this unit... That's pretty standard nowadays, or so I thought, but that is kindof an annoyance when you're using this in a not well-lit situation.... And sooner or later, you will... So just a disappointment in this meter, for that.... Had I realized that before my purchase, I would have bought something else.. That said, it works, and does a good job, so I will certainly use it... Took one star off for the lack of backlight..

I've had several HF cheap meters and those don't hold up. I haven't had this one long enough to know if the test leads will last or not but they feel better than the other cheap ones. Like others say, the manual is not very good and seems to be used for multiple tools. It says to push the "hold" button for 2 seconds to turn on the backlight but this one obviously doesn't have a backlight. I picked this meter mainly for the low price but also because it uses 2 AA batteries instead of a 9 volt battery. At this price it isn't really worth spending half the cost to replace a battery but AA batteries are cheap enough that replacing them makes sense if/when they wear out. Mainly all I wanted this for was the voltage and resistance/continuity tests. It arrived fast and does what I wanted so I'm happy with it.

works great for my DIY projects, great price!

This item arrived the day after I ordered it. I put the batteries that came with it into the meter, hooked up the contact wires, and tested several items. All met my expectations. I'm carrying this meter in my car to test my battery and any fuses that are suspected of being blown. I'm glad to have it.

The measurement result is a little off compare to my other premium FLUKE multimeter. But my son needed a multimeter for his Scioly competition and he has a tendency to lose stuffs so I just wanted to get him a cheap one. This one is good enough for his need. The alligator clip broke the first time he used it. The kit does come with 2 sets, so still OK. Besides, he really needs to use mini hooks to access the test point, though the set does not come with mini hooks.
