It’s worth the purchase.
This is by far the best water bottle that I own. I have not encountered any smell. I use it when traveling because you never know what the water is gonna be like in a new place. The water quality and taste of the water is greatly neutralized and made palatable. It’s very functional and easy to travel with, but I attach a strap to the top by looping it around. It does not have a shoulder strap. My main complaint for this purchase is leakage. Because of the way that the sip top is designed when you open the bottle water can come squirting out the next time you use it if you do not blow down into it when you’re done before capping it. Typically, changing temperatures exacerbate this problem or opening it on an airplane. Overall, the value for the money is still really great because it is your own personal walking filter, allowing you to refill at any water station with peace of mind.

Good water bottle, can tell it filters each sip
Can be difficult to sip from since you're pulling the water through the filter each time. Goes with me traveling, has been scratched but not broken.

"Reliable and convenient for travel — gave me peace of mind in Colombia"
I bought the LifeStraw Go Series water bottle specifically for my trip to Colombia, where I knew safe drinking water wouldn’t always be readily available. It definitely came through when I needed it — and I’m really glad I had it with me. Pros: ✅ Great filtration confidence. I used it to drink from taps, rivers, and public water fountains throughout the trip. Never got sick, and the water always tasted clean. Huge peace of mind when you’re in more remote areas. ✅ Durable build. The bottle held up well through hikes, rough bus rides, and airport handling. No leaks, even when tossed in a backpack. ✅ Easy to use. Just fill it and sip — no complicated process or waiting like some other filters. You can drink on the go, which is especially helpful in hot, humid climates. ✅ Eco-friendly. I avoided buying dozens of plastic bottles, which felt good both for my budget and the environment. ✅ Long-lasting filter. Still going strong after 3 weeks of heavy use. Cons: ⚠️ Sipping takes effort. The filtered straw can make drinking feel a bit like sucking a thick smoothie. Not a huge deal, but it’s something to get used to. ⚠️ Small capacity. It's a personal bottle (mine was 22oz), so if you’re on long hikes or far from refill stations, you’ll want to plan ahead. ⚠️ No filter indicator. There's no visual cue for when the filter is close to needing replacement — you kind of have to guess based on usage. Bottom line: If you’re traveling to places where water safety is a concern — whether cities or rural trails — the LifeStraw Go is 100% worth it. It gave me the freedom to hydrate anywhere in Colombia without constantly worrying about the source. While it’s not perfect, the peace of mind alone makes it a great investment for travelers, hikers, or anyone who wants backup filtration in their bag. Would recommend, especially for backpackers or eco-conscious travelers.

Great, but...
Great bottle, tastes awesome. Just know that if you don't screw the cap on and let it sit a while, water will slowly squirt out and drip all over. It's kinda annoying. Still giving it a 5 star though.

Works great and didn't get sick!
I purchased these water bottles for a trip to Eastern Cuba. Bottled water was hard to come by and the Lifestraw water bottles came in so handy. We filled them with tap water, and water from a river (our guide said you could drink it straight up but I wasn't taking that chance!) and we were didn't get sick. Others in our group did get sick, not sure if from the water or food poisoning but it just take one little microbe in the water to make you sick! Sucking from the top wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be either, so a great purchase all around! If you're going to be in an area where the water is suspect, get this water bottle!

Just Ok.
Filters have a weird taste at first. Really need to do a thorough rinse out. Also one of the two bottles caps is a bit challenging to screw on, the threads some wonky or something. The bottles came with little instructions. A friend who owns these is telling I need to store them in salt water so the filters don't dry out. However, one wouldn't know this by the information that came with the bottles. They hold maybe 16 ounces with the straw so not that big.

Great option to have clean water while traveling
This bottle was a lifesaver for a trip to El Salvador to have clean drinking water. It held up nicely, filtered well, and was a nice size. Pretty blue color too!

Allows you to have drinkable water, no matter where you are
This is my second purchase of this item is I accidentally left my first one on my last trip. I have taken these all over the world with me as well as Camping within the United States. Lightweight, and the 22 ounce size is convenient for me to carry without adding too much weight. Especially since I know any water that is available I will be able to utilize. instead of buying bottled water, which can be questionable in some countries, I am able to use any water available, confident that it will be safe to drink.
