R2-Q5 App-Enabled Droid

Wasn't going to bother with this one as I have the R2-D2 and figured okay, Best Buy exclusive, they just resprayed a few cases of Artoo’s. Wrong! All his sounds are different.no shared beeps. Same with emotes...when in patrol mode it seems more aggressive, where Artoo is loaded with sad or scared emotes it also randomly plays, this one has a more aggressive hostile set making it just seem like a different droid with its own personality. Even using “watch with me” with both of them, they both react to scenes differently. So if you were on the fence thinking it’s just a different paint job on a Sphero I already own, it’s not. Besides the R2 body, the rest from the paint down is fresh and different. Different to the point programs made for Artoo in the Sphero edu app never work 100% for R2-Q5. Maybe the dome will turn or it’ll change stance, but you need to write programs specifically for R2-Q5. Having already reviewed the Artoo, I have the same comments about performance, app, design, detail etc. in a nutshell, all great. For detail check my Artoo review. Great droid,hope they make more and keep cranking them out with unique sounds and emotes and I’ll be a confirmed droid collector. R5-D4 is a no brainer, Obi wans brass and copper color R3 would be great too.

I bought this for my 13 year old son for Christmas and he loved it. The rubber tracks are a good way to move the thing. The only thing that bugs him and me is that the middle leg has no wheel or tread. It is just plastic like the rest of it. Great purchase and 5 stars all the way to sphero’s r2-q5

Alright, so this little droid is watching me write this so I can't really say anything bad or I might get zapped. Fortunately, there's nothing very bad to say about them. When fully charged this little droid can really move. They are excellent at chasing pets, especially cats and fish, and are excellent at helping around the house with chores, like laundry and stuff. They have an excellent voice and will join you on any duet if you ask nicely. There's also a few curse words in the form of beeping that are pre-installed so parents you've been warned (though this might only be mine) Sadly, it seems they did not get pre-installed with the ability to fetch dr.pepper or pay bills but the year is still young and I have much to teach. Basically, every household needs one, even jedi supporters.

I have the R2-D2 also and have the two talk to each other. My 2 year old kisses them goodnight. They are the funnest little toys and with the price reduction, well worth getting for any Star Wars fan!

These are very nice. I also have an R2-D2. Their interaction could be more frequent and not dependent on watching a movie or patrolling, etc. And they don't navigate edges as well as I was expecting. Both of them have almost taken a tumble from my desk several times. They often run right into furniture My biggest complaint though would have to be having the app running constantly, killing my phone battery, in order to enjoy them. Aside from that I do enjoy them even if they are a bit pricey.

I got this for my son to round out his collection of small radio controlled droids. It works well wih his phone and has withstood several Beagle attacks.

Along with the other sphero droid products, this one is simply amazing! what's unique about this one is that the body is fully metal. R2-D2 and BB8 are both plastic. it runs fast even in carpet. this is a great purchase. definitely worth every penny. A must collectible for every starwars fan out there.

oh my gosh SO much fun .... I absolutely love R2Q5 .... does everything you would want an astromech droid to do!!!!!!! Very cool
