I absolutely love this IGK Permanent Hair Color Kit in 4N Original Brown! The color turned out exactly as shown — a beautiful, natural-looking brown with great depth and shine. It left my hair feeling soft, not dry or damaged like some other box dyes.

I was hesitant at first to dye my hair from a box LOL even though I do trust IGK as a well renowned "luxe" hair care brand. I wanted to dye my hair back to my natural color to feel extra confident on my 1st day back to work after my 57 week medical disability. I ordered it 12 hours before and It arrived before delivery time. I briefly read the instructions, followed them, and used the entire bottle for my neck/shoulder length hair. Wanted to make sure my hair color was even. Waited 45min-50min..... washed it off, dried it, and WOW! Its exactly like my natural hair color. Zero damage! Super soft and no allergic reaction etc. Zero scalp burn. I previously dyed my hair eith raspberry highlights that eventually turned green after I conditioned with a purple color depositing hair mask. This product so worked well and doesnt look flat. It looks like my natural hair color! Maybe 0.5 shades lighter but its a great match!!!! Buy it!!!! You will not regret it

I loved this set of two permanent hair dyes in black. The color came out rich, deep, and even, with excellent gray coverage. My hair felt soft and shiny afterward, not damaged or dry. Having two boxes is perfect for touch-ups and such a great value. I would definitely buy it again

For reference, I am Asian, have long medium fine hair down to my upper ribs, and my roots were about 1.5-2” in dark brown while the rest of my hair was a warm brownish copper faded bayalage. I recently tried the garnier oil hair color and my hair felt awful after and the color faded super fast. The ends of my hair were split and white. I also noticed it didn’t darken my hair all the way, there were lots of spots that were lighter where they were bleached before. So I did what any sane woman and first lightly trimmed my hair. Then I got to business. I’ve been eyeing this hair dye on Amazon and took the lunge just because my roots were so bad. There are reviews saying that they needed multiple boxes for medium short hair so I got 3 boxes for short hair because well, it arrived the next day and I wanted an at home glow up over the weekend. (Seriously- laminated my brows, dermaplaned, tanned, filed my nails, overnight face mask everything) I followed the directions and then I actually processed for 45 minutes because of my bleached parts(that’s what was recommended for grey coverage so why not) I shampooed with a gentle nonstripping shampoo and did a hair mask, then applied Wow gloss spray and gave myself a blowout. And just.. STUNNING!!! Seriously. It looked just like I came out of the salon. Everything was one color and just so glossy, shiny and soft. The color was deep and had a warmth but not overly just like the box. I couldn’t stop touching my hair. I did only use two boxes. I felt like I should honestly quit my job and become a hairdresser after that. (Not really, but I was like dang girl you did that!) I would recommend to anyone. It is a splurge, but you get what you pay for.

I got this permanent dye because I really liked their temporary color. I’m only giving 4 stars because even after 45 minutes I still have several greys showing. The overall color is nice and my hair is soft. I don’t know yet how long it will last.

I'm currently in Florida and not in Chicago where my regular hairdresser is, and occasionally, I do get the urge to color my hair at home. I have to start by saying that I don't regret purchasing this or using it on my hair, but most likely won't be buying it again in the future. For an at-home color, it is pretty decent and does give your hair a nice shine. The value for the money is not great if you have anything longer than chin-length hair, especially if you have a lot of hair. I have hair slightly past my shoulders, so not super long by any means, but I did need two boxes. I should also point out that I do have very color-resistant gray hair. I left this color on my roots for almost 50 minutes, and I did not get good coverage on my gray hair at all. The color touched all of the gray roots and did leave a light to medium brunette shade, however, the rest of my hair is dark brown, as was the color I selected. So, sadly, this was a huge failure for root coverage. I can live with this for a couple of weeks, but I will eventually need to bite the bullet and go and get my roots touched up by a professional. Why am I still giving this product 3 stars, you ask? It's because I believe that if you're not trying to cover gray hair or if you don't have color-resistant grays, like me, this could work out well. Keep in mind that you will probably need two boxes, unless you have short hair, in which case, one box should do the trick. Also, I saw a couple of reviews where the reviewer was expecting to go lighter - these types of at-home hair colors will not lighten your hair so please keep that in mind. Most of us veteran color users know this already. LOL.

Can see a difference in higher quality of hair dye. Came with pre treatment, gloves, dye, hair mask for afterwards, as well as a stain remover. Applying to hair was easy, satisfied with end result. Will be ordering again.
