Larger than expected but works very well. Louder than expected. Purifies air as promised.

I recently purchased the Atem X as I was concerned about the air quality, seeing as I live in the city. Although it was a little pricey, the quality and functionality make this purchase worth it! 1) Monitoring your Indoor Air Quality Remotely is HUGE The Atem X comes standard with an air quality sensor that monitors your AQI ( Air Quality Index), PM2.5 concentration, and CO2 concentration as well as the Temperature and humidity. You can view these readings remotely on IQAir's Air Visual App so when you're not at home and concerned about your indoor air quality, you can remotely control the Atem X to start purifying your air manually. Story Time: I was out and about the weekend after I had purchased my Atem X and noticed that my indoor air quality was at a whopping 150 the outdoor air quality is in the 60-80 range. I knew there was something wrong because the Air Visual App shows me the indoor and outdoor AQI in a side-by-side comparison. Long story short, my bad indoor AQI was a combination of my sister burning something in the kitchen, and my Central AC for the house being clogged up from a bad filter. Without this Atem X, I wouldn't have been able to act on the bad indoor AQI. With the touch of a button, I turned my Atem X on MAX and it cleaned the air quality right away! 2) Smart Mode is a game-changer! The Atem X has a smart mode that can adjust its fan speed based on your Air Quality. Smart mode has 3 different levels, Quiet, Balanced, and Max. I usually keep it on Max as it allows the unit to use all of the available fan speeds to clean your air as needed, which I recommend. 3) No oscillating fan feature, but Atem X's fan is better! I was kind of disappointed that this air purifier/ fan combo did not include an oscillating fan feature. However, once you start using the Atem X you realize that the way this system fans your area is superior to a regular oscillating fan. The Atem X blows air throughout your entire room/ space by increasing circulation with IQAir's flexible air rotation technology. Long story short it blows the air at an angle and the higher the fan speed, the more you feel it throughout the entire room vs. having to wait for the oscillating fan to hit you!

Purchased this Atem X unit at the end of February of 2024. I have always used and liked IQAir products. Does a nice job of cleaning the air of particulates but nothing against odors as it just does not have enough charcoal. Buy a different type of purifier if odors are what you want to control. I have verified the particulate improvement on my Airthings units which are around the house due to allergies. What is very concerning is it just started emitting a smell like the motor is hot. It is the smell of burning electronics. I sent a trouble ticket in to the support website and 48 hours later have heard nothing. Turned the unit off for safety reasons. Not the kind of customer service I expect with a $1400 unit. UPDATE: So I called support today - 33 days into owning the unit I was advised by iQAir to stop using the unit if I smelled burning. I felt that to be kind of obvious advice. I am outside of the Amazon return window by 3 days so the only option I was afforded was to ship the unit back to them at my expense so they could evaluate it. My mistake was I did not keep the box. Then, once the unit is evaluated, they will decide what they are willing to do. This is 33 days into a supposed 10 year warranty. I think rather than spend 100+ dollars to box and to ship it back having no idea what they are going to do, I will just take the lesson learned and buy a unit from another manufacturer or just order a motor for it and install it myself. KEEP THE BOX! Expensive lesson but cheaper than a fire. UPDATE #2. IQAir reached out to me after reading this review. They offered me a courtesy return and a number to call. I called them and customer service said they would ship a box and return label. That was 8 days ago and nothing. Emails directly to the customer service rep have gone unanswered. Customer service at this company is obviously very broken. UPDATE #3 - April 20th 2024 - They shipped me a square box but it was for the Healthpro plus and the Atem X won't fit in it due to diameter. When I inquired as to why they would ship this to me when they knew I have the Atem X I was told they don't have shipping materials for the Atem X. Really???????? Just got sick of working with IQAir Customer Circus after all of this and took the unit apart. Removed the piece of rubber that was rubbing the wheel (was brown and burnt so easy to identify) and creating the burning smell so it was not the motor. Unit works and I really hope I NEVER have to deal with IQAir customer service again. Good product but terrible support. I truly remember when IQAir had some of the best support and service in the market. Sad Really!!!!

Before the Atem X, I had a Shark Air Purifier I bought at Costco, and this thing blows it away! My husband & I just had a baby girl. We want to do everything we can to provide her the safest & cleanest space. We monitor her room with a baby monitor, but the Atem X also alows us to monitor her air quality as well as the amount of CO2 in the room. This is very valuable as we live in LA, and assumed that keeping our windows closed at all times was the best option. But when CO2 gets too high, you need to open up windows to allow more oxygen in there! We love that it isnt a direct fan, and instead of blowing air into our babys face, it increases the airflow in the room. This provides a more comfortable environment, and clean air at all times for our baby! We use smart mode and schedule different times of day in the app. Before she goes to bed, we run it on high so that she has the best air quality before bedtime. Lastly, customer service is great! For some apparent reason, FedEx found it impossible to deliver to my apartment in Westwood. They tried multiple times even though UPS never has this issue. IQAirs customer service communicated with me, and asked if I had another address that I can take delivery at. My parents live in Bakersfield & I directed them there. Delivery was successful and I was able to pick up the Atem X the next week!

It's easy to set up and the app is excellent. Works well, runs quietly and looks great. It's certainly a bonus that it can be placed against a wall. The base with casters snaps on if you want it to be mobile. It doesn't come cheap but the improved air quality, and the obviously excellent build quality of the device, are worth it.

The purifier looks good and comes ready to use out of the box. No need to install the filters like in other models. Pairing the unit with the phone app was easy, instructions were clear. The app is well designed and intuitive, easy to use, made configuring the unit a breeze. The unit has a quite mode of operation which is very useful if the unit is located near you or if the room is on the small side - this takes care of your ears by not raising the motor power too high! I took a star due to some features missing from the app: although the unit measures the content of PM2.5 and CO2 continously, it does not allow to program the unit to turn on if one of those parameters goes outside a threshold, and to turn it off when the air gets clean enough. This means you still need to use some external logic and devices if you care to have the air purifier turned on when the air gets dirty without having to keep the unit on at all times (just using up the filter for nothing). I am surprised this feature is missing, cheaper brands have been offering it for 5 years or more! Also, even if this model has a wired network option, the option is not shown either on Amazon or on the manufacturer's own website! This is important for people who don't have a wifi network or who don't want to keep one turned on everywhere. All in all, this a very new and welcome addition to IQair's air purifiers portfolio, pushing them forward in the modern world of intelligent devices (those using thier other air purifier products like the bigger HealthPro line understand what I mean).

Based in UAE, been using the Atem X air purifier for almost 2 months now and there is really a significant and noticeable improvement in the indoor air quality in our room. As someone who is very sensitive to dust, it helped with my frequent sneezing. I can spot less dust in my home furnitures. The design/controls are great specially the option for quiet function. It does not disturb our sleep but still effective & high power. I love that I can easily control it using my phone. Will definitely also have it for my living area.

This is by far the best air purifier I've bought. It is quite expensive but, I'm a strong believer in getting what you pay for. The app is good, I like how it shows a percentage of remaining filter life. I purchased it last December and am now just changing the filters on it(It was still reading 18% on the app, but i decided to change them anyway).Filter replacements are around $300 cdn, so keep that in mind before you purchase one. My only complaint is that there are no charcoal pre-filters for odor reduction. I also ran it pretty much nonstop for a year at medium to high levels so the filters do have good life span. 5 stars

My wife and I have been using the Atem X for over a month now, and this has been a real game changer. The performance has been outstanding it really makes a noticeable difference in the air quality, keeping our home feeling fresh and clean throughout the day. Other purifiers have a common issue that it is disturbing to sleep with the noise and lights blinking but Atem X gives an option to tweak the fan speed thus making it completely silent and dim the lights too, which makes it stand out from others. One of the things we both love is how easy it is to control. We can adjust everything through our phones, monitor the air quality in real-time, even when we're out of the house, which is super convenient. The design is something we really love. It has a modern look that fits in perfectly with our decor, and we especially appreciate how the control panel is subtle and doesn’t dominate the design. It's clear that a lot of thought went into both its functionality and appearance. It blends in so well that you hardly notice it's there, which adds to the overall stylish vibe of the room. Overall, we are really pleased with how well it works, how it looks, and how it's made our home feel more comfortable.
