(TS-D65C) Excellent mid-tier warm speakers for the price point
The TS-D65C are very good speakers with surprising amount of loudness for their sensitivity rating. Don't get me wrong -- anything below <90db sensitivity will still want an amp. Not necessarily for loudness, but for detail and clarity. Heck, an amp will improve the clarity on 90db sensitive speakers too. That being said, I felt like I didn't have to turn the gain too high to get these to come alive. Despite the rated efficiency, seems Pioneer did a good job with the engineering on this one. Just be aware, these are soft dome design, which means that the sound is going to be on the warmer side. If you're looking more for that bright or tight *tiss* sparkle effect, you'll want to step down to A-series or bump up to Z-series for a hard dome design (I have the Z series on my personal "fun" car). For long drives and road trips, I prefer warmer sounds since my wife and I have found our ears start hurting on brighter speakers. Bright speakers sound cool, don't get me wrong. They just get really fatiguing on long drives. Some people will say these speakers are "bad" because they can't differentiate between a speaker designed for brightness and warmth. That being said, they do have a point about one thing -- warm speakers tend to lack clarity, but the TS-D65C manages to retain clarity and detail very well. Base wise, they're decent. Being warmer speakers, the mid-bass isn't a hard, sharp blast, but rather wraps you like you're bathing in it. Wife really prefers it to brighter speakers, especially for listening to liquid DnB and other chill EDM. I still plan to add a subwoofer, but I don't think I'll need anything too powerful. Mid-range is very good. They don't muddy out the low and high end like the old speakers did, so I didn't have to decrease the mid-range as much on the EQ. Now, are these the *best* speakers? No, but for the price in its class, you're not going to find many that make use of interlaced or reinforced fiber at <$200. All the while, still sounding good enough as those higher end speakers.

great speakers!!
If you want clear sound, these speakers are ideal. I installed them in a 2018 Tacoma with a Polk 4000.4 amplifier, and they significantly improved the sound. Proper installation of the tweeters in the doors and a good installation for the 6.5-inch door speaker made a big difference.

Worst tweeters I've ever experienced
The 6.5" speakers are great and I love them! Those get a 5 star rating for sure. Good quality for a decent price. However, the tweeters that come with them are absolute garbage. I thought they were immediately blown. The soft mesh screening on them rattles against the plastic in front of the speaker. I had to modify them and tape them down to get rid of that nasty crackling sound. Besides having to purchase a spacer separately so my windows could go down, everything fit perfectly. The tweeters come with two different mounting brackets which was convenient for where they're located. Just wish the design for them was more practical regarding the mesh cover.

Fantastic Speakers!!
Fantastic speakers with a sound quality that is hard to beat. Even better than the other 2 speaker sets that I tried before I landed on these is that they have a very nice base for a 6.5" speaker. The only reason why these didn't get a full 5 stars is that the speaker box was all crushed and messed up and the sticky foam they were suppose to come with was missing. Just be warned that you might have to get some spaces as the TS-D65Cs' have a deeper mount depth than most car doors have available (3"ish). I went with the Metra 82-4301 Universal 1" Speaker Adapter and they worked great. I just had to snip off the inner tabs.

Good sound quality
Very crisp and clean sound i paired them to a kicker cxa3604 i used the uncluded filter for the tweeter and set the high pass filter to highest freq. Sound amazing. Not the loudest because i only get about 50 watt per speaker. But super clean and nice mid bass sound.

Amazing for the money
Very smooth\open sounding . i compared these to a pair of 250 dollar focal access speakers and these pioneer d series have spectacular midrange and power handling where the focals lack in bass and thump these pioneer's succeed and sound clear doing it.
