I am using this cable to connect the DV output on a JVC S-VHS video recorder to the DV input on a Panasonic DVD recorder (both machines being nearly 20 years old) with a view to transferring old camcorder footage on S-VHS and VHS tapes to DVD. The cable works a treat and I am delighted with it, particularly as my 30 year old video tapes have not deteriorated at all in storage.

Great does the job

Purchased this cable based on the many reviews so that I could start converting all my old mini DV, Hi8 and Digital 8 tapes to digital format. Firstly I should say that I had to buy a PCIE card to add 1394 (Firewire) capability to my desktop link added https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002S53IG8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The cable itself appears to be well made but I have an issue. The DV connector that connects to the camera is very tight. At first I thought that the camera connector was at fault, but I then connected a second DV camera connection and this was also very tight. So all I can say is be very careful.

The IE 1394 connector didn't fit my camera so I had to return the item. Otherwise it looked like a well made product.

Cable came quick and worked out of the box with my Hackintosh running MacOS Monterey connected up to a JVC camcorder. Brilliant!

Cable for computer use

Appears to be well made on first inspection. Ideal for connecting my old camcorder to the DVD recorder. Connectors a little tight but this seems to be plus factor so preventing accidental removal of connector. Lead feels supple and easy to route around boxes.

Solid but flexible cable, Connectors fit as expected. Good value for money given that this cable type is for legacy products and that usually pushes the price up. Worked as expected - can't comment on durability other than its lasted fine so far (1 day)

Câble de très bonne facture, le connecteur ne présente aucun jeu dans la prise , sans trop de difficultés pour l'insérer. Les connecteurs sont excellents, ils ne risquent pas de se débrocher comme beaucoup d'autres avec moulage plastique de basse qualité. Je vous conseille ce câble, qui me sert pour faire des copies d'un caméscope vers un enregistreur disque dur

Destiné à remplacer un cable entre un Mac, un PC et 2 caméscopes numériques. J'avais "perdu" le cable d'origine, puis je l'ai retrouvé, ce qui m'a permis de les comparer). Branchement, longueur, fonctions des cables sont identiques, tenue ferme dans les prises : parfait !
