Secret Wars

For those who remember the original Secret Wars you could say that it was for younger readers and this version has built on the Marvel mythos for the next generation. It packs a vast story while maintaining a clear narrative and villains that have good reasons for their actions which they use to justify their intentions. Doctor Doom is one of the greatest protagonists in comics and this story uses him at the core of his beliefs. The conclusion is satisfying, if a little rushed, and makes the landing. Excellent and Make Mine Marvel. Great value as well.

Probably the most eagerly awaited Marvel event for decades this is everything you want it to be - and so much more! Beautiful artwork, well paced and with deep characterisations that have built for years this is a tour de force you really must read and have in your collection. I confess that Jonathon Hickman's work is sometimes above my head and I do feel I miss some of the more subtle nuances in this book but a lack of simple narrative only is not a complaint, this does prove that comics can be clever too. No, this is not a relaunch, it is not the end of the Marvel Universe as we know it al all - it is more aa rededication to the future - and a satisfying way to sideline the Fantastic Four as a concept while the film rights are sorted out. There is an opportunity here for the Marvel Universe to become a multiverse a la the old style (new style?) DC Universe that I'm not sure they will take advantage of but clearly new avenues will present themselves. If you are reading this review - you have to have this book! My highest recomendation.

when you open this edition on every single page, any art in the middle of the book is too close to the inner spine, so you’re missing some of the spectacle, (not story, just art) it’s maybe a whole centimeter, max. they should’ve made the book a touch wider and moved the art to the outer edges with a little white border running up the middle of the book so you don’t miss anything, an oversight possibly, a nit pick, maybe, but it ticks me off every time i open it. just thought i’d let anyone who’s considering buying this know. otherwise top notch, i’m enjoying the story, & the art is incredible!

Part 1 ?. Of Secret War's Story.

The story is genuinely one of the best I've ever read and it came in great condition too. I think there are also a lot of tie-ins and other comics but this book is the main continuity from the start of battleworld to the end. 10/10

Great story that’s well presented and easy to work your way through! Looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars is a visual triumph. Esad Ribić’s cinematic direction and sprawling panel layouts create an operatic scale, while Ive Svorcina’s ethereal coloring adds immense depth. The story is a masterful culmination of multiversal collapse, blending high-concept sci-fi with intimate character stakes. It is a grand, high-stakes finale that redefined the boundaries of the Marvel Universe.

I haven't finished it yet but it's so cool to see the different variants of some of the heroes and Battleworld. I definitely recommended getting this comic.

I've not finished it yet but so far it's good. I just really dont like the art at all, other than that the story is amazing so far.
