Brilliant and stylish
I do like listening wide range of music from jazz to classical ,opera to folk not really into toxic junk. I've only enjoyed two earphones truly in my whole life and they were Denon and Denheiser which Denon been my favourite always, until I tried these beasts! Technics az80 is absolutely amazing, comfort fit, doesn't hurt my ears, user friendly app with lots of functions and brilliant sound. It connects effortlessly in fact connects up to 3 devices seamlessly . It's got LDAC! I'm an android user so enjoying it. Sound wise ; it's got absolutely brilliant range and you can hear every single little detail in the music that you didn't hear when listening before, overall it gives you full bodied sound that justifies the middle and lower range too without compromising the bass and the treble at all. A lot of personality built in the app and the earphones including its box! Lots of options to make it more of your self with different settings, there are few sound settings too and you can also set up your own sound setting too but I do prefer the dynamic option as its pretty great and let's you feel the whole magic. The sound cancellation is also really good that doesnt the outside let you disturb you and even it gives you control on how much outside noise to let in or not and it does it so quietly that you don't even realise that this set of earphones had an active sound cancellation! The metalic touch surface in both the earphones works flawlessly in every single time with no miss on the touch control buttons , allthough it does have big drivers it feels light due its ergonomic design It even helps you to chose the right earbuds for your ears and let's you listen to your own voice as if someone was hearing which gives you an understanding of how clear your voice goes to the other end. I'm keep playing with it and I must say it's been a long time that a pair of earphones got me excited like this so well done Technics, this is a piece of art. Around £200 it feels more designer, feels more solid and expensive than the highly priced competitors which doesn't give as much . If anyone's after the audio quality I think these are one of the best out there and these are truly premium on the look, feel and sound.

Sound Excellence Meets Innovation
After two weeks of extensive testing, I can confidently say that the Technics EAH-AZ80E wireless earbuds have set a new standard in premium audio. As a follow-up to the already impressive AZ70, these earbuds deliver improvements across the board that make them worth every penny for serious audio enthusiasts. Sound Quality: Audiophile-Grade Performance The sonic performance of the EAH-AZ80E is nothing short of exceptional. Featuring Technics' newly developed 10mm dynamic drivers with acoustic control chambers, these earbuds deliver an expansive soundstage with pinpoint instrument separation. Bass response is rich and well-controlled without overwhelming the mids, while the high frequencies sparkle with detail and airiness that rivals over-ear audiophile headphones. The natural tonal balance makes these suitable for any genre—from classical orchestral pieces to bass-heavy electronic music. What truly impressed me was the dynamic range - subtle details in complex recordings emerged with clarity I rarely experience in wireless earbuds. Active Noise Cancellation: Industry-Leading The AZ80E's noise cancellation technology has received a significant upgrade. Using a dual hybrid system with feedforward and feedback microphones, these earbuds create an impressive cone of silence even in challenging environments like airplane cabins and busy coffee shops. What sets them apart is the adaptive noise cancellation that automatically adjusts based on your environment without the uncomfortable pressure sensation many ANC earbuds create. Multipoint Connection & Connectivity One feature that has transformed my daily workflow is the enhanced multipoint connection capability. The EAH-AZ80E can maintain simultaneous connections to three devices (up from two in previous models), switching seamlessly between them. During my testing, transitioning from work calls on my laptop to music on my phone was instantaneous and reliable. Bluetooth 5.3 support with aptX Adaptive, LDAC, and AAC codecs ensures exceptional wireless audio quality and rock-solid connectivity regardless of your device ecosystem. Battery Life & Charging Battery performance exceeds expectations with: - 7.5 hours of playback with ANC enabled - 12 hours with ANC disabled - 24 hours total with the charging case (ANC on) The wireless charging case now supports fast charging, providing 70 minutes of playback from just a 10-minute charge perfect for those moments when you're heading out the door and realize your earbuds need a boost. Comfort & Design Technics has refined the ergonomics from previous generations, creating a secure yet comfortable fit even during extended listening sessions. The premium materials - including the brushed aluminum accents on the case - convey quality craftsmanship that justifies the price point. The IPX4 water resistance rating provides peace of mind during workouts or unexpected rain showers. App & Controls The Technics Audio Connect app offers extensive customization options without overwhelming users. The 5-band EQ allows for precise sound tailoring, while the touch control customization ensures the earbuds work exactly as you prefer. The improved touch sensitivity strikes the perfect balance - responsive enough to register intentional taps but not so sensitive that it triggers unwanted actions when adjusting the earbuds. Call Quality Call performance has received a substantial upgrade with eight microphones (four per earbud) and advanced beamforming technology. Even in windy conditions, my voice came through clearly to callers, and the enhanced voice isolation effectively filtered out background noise. Value Proposition While positioned in the premium segment, the EAH-AZ80E delivers value that justifies its price tag. The combination of exceptional sound quality, cutting-edge features, and refined user experience makes these earbuds a worthwhile investment for discerning listeners who don't want to compromise. Verdict The Technics EAH-AZ80E earbuds represent the pinnacle of what's currently possible in true wireless audio. With class-leading sound quality, impressive noise cancellation, and thoughtful features like enhanced multipoint connectivity, they've earned their place as my new everyday earbuds. If you're looking for wireless earbuds that can satisfy audiophile sensibilities while offering practical features for daily use, the EAH-AZ80E deserves a spot at the top of your list. **Rating: 9.5/10** *Pros: - Exceptional sound quality with natural tonal balance - Outstanding noise cancellation without pressure discomfort - Triple device multipoint connectivity - Impressive battery life with fast charging - Premium design and comfortable fit - Comprehensive app customization *Cons: - Premium price point - No aptX Lossless support (though LDAC largely compensates) - Slightly larger case than some competitors

Outstanding Earbuds
Brilliant for music listening -so clear and the depth of sound compared to my previous ear buds is amazing. The noise cancelling is extremely effective. Good range of ear buds sizes too. The app is very comprehensive but I have found the default setting to be very good. I have not used it for phone calls so can't comment on this aspect of the ear buds. Very easy to set up and Bluetooth very stable. Highly recommended.

Very good, but are they worth the asking price?
The Technics AZ80s are very attractive earbuds, from the brushed metal top logo on the charge case to the well moulded buds themselves, you can tell time was put into the design and aesthetics when Technics had these on the drawing board, albeit with, for me anyways a couple of negatives, but I'll come on to that a little later. Connectivity was a breeze with the AZ80s, and using the Technics audio connect app you're greeted with an ear tip fitting setup which helps you with the ideal tips for your ears to get the best seal, and thereafter, the best sound. The app also has all the settings for sound profiles and EQs that you can tweak as well as all the AZ80s information like bud and charger case battery levels and any firmware update information. ANC on the AZ80s is decent, I wouldn't say it's the very best I've heard, but it does a good enough job to keep out all but the most awkward of everyday external noises. The mic too is functional, though for me it seems a little muffled at times. And now onto the sound quality, and that's where the Technics AZ80s really shine. Separation is stellar, with a beautiful wide sound field, with a glorious sound profile that lets each instrument have it's place with clarity. Bass is handled with clarity and authority and never seems muddy. Treble is precise and fast without ever sounding harsh and fatiguing. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality of the sound. Battery life seems to be ok, definitely not great, but it's more than enough for a good listening session, and charging seems to be pretty good too. Now the negatives. This comes back to my design issue from the beginning of my review, and could just be down to my ears, but they don't really sit in my ears very comfortably, I've even tried comply, but I've had to settle with extra large JVC Dots to get to the point where I feel they won't fall out my ears, which for a pair of expensive earbuds is a more than slightly worrying thought. And sound levels are definitely not as loud as many bud out there, so if loud music is your thing, these might disappoint. So are the Technics AZ80s worth the top asking price? well yes and no. The sound quality is fantastic as is many of the AZ80s features like the multi connection Bluetooth switching, but if I struggle to keep them in my ears, all that means not a jot of they fall out and get lost on a walk, so maybe after a possible future design change I could say they are worth every penny.

Good but not great.
My huawei freebuds pro 2 which I really liked started having some connection and battery issues after a few months of use. I decided to get the technics AZ80 as I found a great warehouse deal and also read a lot about their call quality, which is extremely important to me. I’ll keep my experience with the buds short and sweet: Pros: Easy set up and super quick multi point connections Its almost instantaneous. Decent seal and a wide range of tips provided. Touch controls work very well. Excellent battery life. Fantastic call quality in a quiet room/ideal conditions. Solid app with plenty of options. Very balanced sound profile out of the box which can be tweaked from the app. Also they definitely sound premium. Good transparency mode. Well built case Cons: Noise cancellation is average considering the amount of money you pay. My huawei freebuds pro 2 were far better and cost 50% less Call quality in a noisy and windy environment is hit and miss. At times people had no problems hearing me and other times I was asked to call them back from a quiet place. I get a weird crackling sound on the transparency mode. Not sure if it’s just my unit. I faced some connection issues on the London Underground. Sometimes sound disconnects when switching between apps. They are quite big and pop out if you have small ears. These would be a great buy at £170 - £180 and definitely not worth paying full price.

Magnificent Tech and Fit
I had the AEH-AZ60M2 first. Sound and performance was fantastic but kept falling out of my ear which is an ongoing problem. Got these as I thought the advertised 'concha fit' would help. And it did, but I wasn't happy with the sound as I felt that I had to hold them firmly to my ear to get decent bass and even though they didn't fall out, they constantly felt like they were about. So, not happy with with that and for me, this is a lot of money. About to return them and whilst I was researching other buds I thought let me go back to the medium tips and give that a go (I've always tried the smallest tips as they work the best with what I believe to be odd shaped ears.) Gamechanger! Fit is perfect, sound is amazing and with all the features these have, these headphones are perfect and indeed, MAGNIFICENT! As I said, sound and fit is as good as I could hope for. App is easy to use and gives me everything that I need. Touch controls are brilliant, easy and if I was to choose to do so, changeable. Being able to connect to three devices is so convenient as I do actually need that daily when working and it works seamlessly. Ambient sound is great and I can walk around and have conversations with no problem whatsoever and even though I have never tweaked the settings since I set it up, I think it's great that I could if I chose to! I know some of the reviews say ANC isn't as good as some of the other top of the range buds. I work from home so it really isn't an issue for me and if I'm out and about, I wouldn't want to shut the world out. Plus I have nothing to compare this to as I have never owned a set of ANC earbuds. All I can say is it works fine for me and that I have no complaints. Battery life seems fine for me. I have only ever used it for about two hours max so don't know how accurate the 7 hours prediction is. Calls are excellent and nobody that I have spoken to has had any complaints at all and I can hear them fine. I am so glad that I came across these, they have made me fall in live with listening to music again although I do normally listen to podcasts and audiobooks for which these are equally magnificent!

Really Disappointed/Refund
I got these earbuds based on looking at a lot of different reviews and most of them seemed really complimentary and positive. They were easy to setup and link to the Technics app plus they looked really cool too. The problem came when they were fully charged and I began using them for the first time. I had only tested them for 20/25 minutes and I have to say that I was really impressed with the sound. When I put the buds back in the case, the case began to flash red, which indicates the battery in the case is empty. It had just been fully charged! When I checked via the app it said there was literally no charge in the case at all, only a few minutes before it had been sitting at 100% charge. I tried all the troubleshooting tips via the website but the case was still flashing red. After several attempts to solve the problem I lost patience, realising that I shouldn't be having these issues, not at that price range!! Plus, who was to say that the problem wouldn't reoccur even if I had managed to resolve it. I packed them up, returned them and asked for my money back. I was really disappointed because they looked great, they sounded great, the touch control was very good.... But the charging case was dreadful!! It has put me off purchasing from Technics again. Another once great brand that seems to be letting its standards drop.

2 years on, still highly recommended
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to share how great these are after two years of use. They sound fantastic. The bass doesn’t hit quite as hard as the top-end Sony models (which I did test when purchasing), but I ended up returning the Sonys because the overall sound quality of the Technics is better—more balanced and fuller across the range. I can comfortably wear them all day at work, easily 7 to 8 hours if not more, the battery life is excellent. They've been used and abused, dropped many times, and still work perfectly. To give a balanced review, the case seems has stopped allowing weak phone chargers to charge it, only fast chargers work. This hasn’t been an issue for me as I have plenty of fast chargers around anyway. They’re not the most secure for exercise or sudden movements—like jogging to catch a train or a closing door. You can feel them gradually working their way out, but it's usually noticeable enough that you can push them back in before they fall. The "Find My Earphone" function is genuinely helpful. I’ve used it many times to locate a lost earbud around the house—it plays a loud, high-pitched tone controlled through the app. Just note that it won’t work once the earpiece battery dies (typically after 24 hours). After two years, the "Find My Case" feature has started to deteriorate a bit—it doesn’t always update the last known location on the google maps view. That could be a phone settings issue though for me personally. Touch controls are great and customisable. I’ve set a single tap to play/pause on both ears instead of just one. No complaints from people I’ve spoken with over the phone either my voice has been clear. Finally, the noise cancelling is one of the best features. It isolates the environment so smoothly that I often wear them without music just to help concentrate at work. The semi-pass-through mode is also useful, it lets me hear people speaking nearby such as co-workers so I am and called I can answer without them throwing something at me to grab my attention. Highly rate these. I’d consider the AZ100s next time, only as they earpieces are lighter which may stay in the ear better during movement, but these are absolutely worth picking up and trying for yourself. I doubt you'll be sending them back.
