Easy to use and works well plug and play for Chromebooks

Easy plug-and-play for Windows 10 compatibility, and with a little searching one can find online how to fully operate this device. I'm a fairly technical person who has typically deleted all the onboard features, but I decided to try the hardware encryption, and I like it. It was easy to setup a device password, and I even tested "forgot password" before migrating data to this device. If I plug it into my desktop USB, then it's trusted (no password needed). Any other device requires a password to see the content. I was also able to assign a fixed drive letter so that the unlocked drive on my desktop is always L: I now have four Seagate drives, two that are at least 10 years old, and all still work. I compared several 1TB drives, and the cost per GB with my trust in Seagate quality gave me confidence that I was doing the right thing. At this point, I don't know why I'd buy a non-encrypted external drive.

I read all the reviews and ordered it because Seagate drives have been very reliable for me in the past. I was leery because a lot of the reviews said it was difficult to set up and that there were no instructions. I connected it to my USB port, and up popped the file names that were installed on the unit, and I chose the file for Windows, launched it and a screen came up telling me that I could choose to drag and drop my files to the unit or do a scheduled backup. I dragged my files over and they copied to the backup perfectly with no issues. I viewed them once backed up and they were all there. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend!

Hace un par de semanas tuve que aplicar una corrección al disco duro porque dejó de reconocerlo la laptop. Debo acotar que no suelo usarlo ni mantenerlo conectado y que sigo el protocolo correcto para desconectarlo, así que me dio un susto innecesario. Por fortuna la misma página de la marca me dio la solución.

can’t go wrong with a Seagate. Awesome little hard drive.

If it were possible to give this zero stars, I would. I am NEVER buying ANYTHING from Seagate again. EVER. The unit that was sent to me was defective right out of the box. This was supposed to be an easy plug-&-play, and it wasn't. This did not come with ANY of the pre-installed software on it. My computer doesn't even recognize this as a Seagate, just a "drive D:". Plugging it in did not launch a damn thing. ZERO GUIDANCE. The extra "password protections" that are supposed to be a part of it Start program is a COMPLETE LIE. No Adobe promo, or the photo app promo either. I wasted over 6 freaking hours with Seagate's Tech Support, and the problems with this unit just continued to multiply. They were Absolutely NO HELP at all. I am so LIVID right now. I just want to use this Seagate as a target for shooting practice.

This thing is absolutely amazing! first off its small and takes up little to no space. Its super easy to set up I got this because my pc is older and doesn't have a lot of space. I'm an artist and gamer and these games keep getting bigger and bigger so i was swapping between a limit of 2-3 games being installed on my computer. since i got this drive, ive moved my games to it and i have about 36 different games installed, including Ark and i still have space left over! definitely worth getting if your having space issues

Bon système de stockage, solide et compacte mais pas super rapide. Pour mon utilisation, j'en suis très satisfaite, je stocke mes photos et vidéos de famille, mes films, etc.

Great hard drive so far and I have had it a year, it does keep disconnecting but I’m not sure if this is the cable that came with it or my usb connection that’s dodgy. It looks nice too, not too bulky and nice design

El disco funciona, pero no con el cable que incluye el paquete. Con este cable, es imposible transferir archivos relativamente grandes (500 Mb o más). De hecho, hacer un formateo completo del disco con este cable también da problemas. He usado un cable de un disco WD viejo y no me ha dado más problemas. Yo no recomendaría la compra de este producto.
