Fantastic 8 Core CPU. Just Avoid a GPU Bottleneck and all is Well
I had been using a lower FX4300 for a while and although it got the job done a lot of my gaming experiences had obvious CPU strain resulting in lag spikes. Moving on to this all that has since been eradicated and titles such as Assassins Creed Odyssey now run with a consistently flat line and rock steady CPU use instead of constantly spiking as usage ramps up and down. Playing The Division 2 at 1080p I'm able to push settings further than I expected and still get a silky smooth frame rate coupled with a lower end mid range 4GB GPU. Desktop use is swift and painless. All in all you can't go wrong with this for the price and my temps in HWMonitor never go beyond 65c when under heavy load gaming with an idle temp of just 31 C. Sure you could go for a Ryzen but if you aren't all that bothered about competing in the latest hardware rat race this will do your system just fine and do it with style.

Fast 8 core CPU...
Bought it for work and gaming. It works great even with the stock cooler, did not overclock it yet.I might in the future, then I will think about better cooling solution. It works with the 16 gb of ram and the Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 560 2GB GPU,no SSD but still boots up in about 25-30 sec.Gaming itself is acceptable, from mid to ultra settings, the CPU seem to handle all the tasks very well, very responsive and worth the money. Having in mind the fast changing world of technology some might think that the Ryzen is the best solution,I would agree but at the moment you can still work with this CPU well and in some time consider Ryzen as a replacement,if you are an AMD fan :)

AMD FX8300 great cheap CPU 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a great cpu and has great OC if you have the cooler, this is also a cheap alternative to some of the more expensive models such as 8350 or 8320 doesn't to have the power but it stands it's ground but buy this if you don't want to wait any later, but later down the road you can purchase one of the other said models but this CPU is just perfect for any cheap budget builds and them extra cores come in extremely handy in editing LET DOWNS: Cpu cooler is very loud and can sound like your computer may gain lift but even I don't really care so it's a 5 from me Sorry for the crap pic but it's something

Great little processor, stock cooler is not great.
Great product, however I purchased a seperate heatsink, the stock one is quite small and has a small fan which I would imagine would be noisey. Easily installed, combined with a coolmaster hyper121 is very quiet, stays below 52 even under load, plays all my newer games on hyper settings. It came a day early which turned out ok, but had ordered on a certain date for a reason but luckily a neighbour was in. Reasons for 4 star was stock cooler was not great and early delivery as if it had gone back to depo I would have to wait three days for collection as it was a holiday.

8 core overkill but at a very nice price.
Its going to be very rare when you will ever need 8 cores, and you will barely ever notice the difference between this and its 4 core stablemate. However, given the price and the ability to overclock these AMD processors by up to 20% with a more hefty heatsink, it realy is a very good purchase, especially when you can spend the money you save over buying a rival Intel processor of similar performance, on a really good motherboard or reasonable graphics card.

Brilliant response times when working with open apps it doesn't ...
i have just fitted this CPU and it comes with its own fan and heat sink which is very quiet. Brilliant response times when working with open apps it doesn't have any lag with at least 5 or more programs open. Very happy i upgraded from my previous fx processor. I have 12GB of ram and an Asus motherboard. Great increase in speed for the money.

Such a good 8 core CPU for low price!
Perfect 8 core CPU with great overclocking potential! For £60 you can't find any better 8 core CPU! I had combined it with RX 580 4gb variant and 12 GB ram which results in stable 60fps in most news games at ultra presets! This CPU will hit 4.6 GHz without any issues on good motherboard.

works as a nice backup to my ryzen r7 1700 main pc
Bought this for a spare cheap pc that runs folding@home/backup gaming rig and overclocked it to 4ghz at 1.356 volts, works as a nice backup to my ryzen r7 1700 main pc. Replaced the stock cooler with a tx3 evo and it seems to be fine in the 50s when using folding@home on it.

English review at bottom. To start with their customer service is fantastic, there was a problem, BUT it was NOTHING to do with seller or produce. Seller was very helpful and sorted problem very quickly. For money this is a fantasic CPU, it runs very cool, even under very heavy loads, BUT be aware about boost clock speed, YES maximum boost is 4.2ghz, BUT by default it is set to 3.6ghz boost clock, to get maximum 4.2ghz boost, you needed to change the CPU voltage in the the Bios (see attached picture for voltage), if you do change voltage or anything in Bios, always do it in small steps to make sure system is stable, and CPU is not over heating. Yes you can buy the FX 8350 for 20 euros more (has higher clock speeds) BUT you have to think about power, how is your motherboard powered, is it 24 + 4 pin or 24 + 8 pin, ideally the 8350 needs 24 + 8, where as the FX 8300 only needs 24 + 4 pin power. The FX 8300 is lower wattage, and has GREATER ability to overclock than the FX 8350, as it is already close to its limits. Yes this CPU is second hand, but due the the insane prices of new CPU's/graphics cards etc..... (example, i got hold of a nVidia GTX 1050 ti for a friend for 195 euros, within 4hrs the price went UP to 296 euros, following day it had gone up to 365 euros). My point is it is better at the moment to buy second hand, until the market goes back to normal (I would NEVER buy off Ebay, as there is to many scammers, and you dont get produces you order) Overall the FX 8300 is powerful and holds its own still against newer CPU's.

I gave myself a project to build a virtual pinball setup. I wanted to be able to run tables from The Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX2. Some of the tables can be fairly demanding at the highest settings, so I needed a good mid-range system with adequate CPU, RAM, and GPU. I bought a custom-built mid-tower system off someone nearby on Craigslist. Gigabyte motherboard with AM3+ CPU socket Athlon II FX4 640 CPU with Rocketfish cooler 8GB RAM 250GB SSD (with Win10) 500 GB HDD (for other storage) GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU DVD/RW optical drive Network card 6 USB3 ports All at a very attractive price. I added an Xbox controller with force feedback to work the flippers, plunger, and select tables. I also built a frame to set a 46" Samsung 1080p TV sloped in the vertical orientation, as the pinball playing surface. I stand up and play or sit on a bar stool. It's the same height as a real pinball machine. Finally, I mounted satellite speakers to the sides of the frame, and added a subwoofer from an old PC speaker set. I loaded Steam and the pinball software, and then bought and downloaded about 20 tables. They ran pretty well, and we had a lot of fun in the rec room. You could sometimes experience a slight lag with the flippers and sometimes in multiball when a lot of activity was going on. I could tweak the settings to minimize this. After about 5 months, I decided an upgrade to a beefier CPU would get it up to prime specs for pinball. The AM3+ supports the final generation of AMD FX chips. I was looking at the FX-8300, FX-8320, and FX-8350. While they all come from the same die, the 8320 and 8350 passed higher benchmark tests at the factory when overclocked. You can really push these chips. The last 2 run at 125 watts, while the 8300 runs at 95 watts. Not a big issue, but we all want our chips to run as cool as possible. For the price/performance, and power issues, the FX-8300 was the best option. I do not plan on overclocking, as it is fast out of the box. It's nice to know this CPU arrives unlocked, and my bios allows me to boost if if I want. The Verdict: I couldn't believe how much faster this CPU runs than the old Athlon quad core CPU. It's night and day. Windows boots faster, the games load faster, and they run perfectly smooth on high settings. I am extremely happy with this CPU and I highly recommend it to anyone who has an AM3+ CPU socket. It's not the latest and greatest, but for the money, it is hard if not impossible to get more computing power at a price anywhere close to this. Any Intel chip that is comparable costs twice as much. With the 46" TV, the booming speakers, and the flipper controller, it looks great, sounds great, and plays great. I expect to have many pinball sessions with friends and family over the years. New tables are available every few months, and there are already well over 100 to choose from, so I will never run out of new pinball tables to play. It's like having a massive pinball collection in my rec room. In some ways, it is not the same as playing the real thing, but I'll never have to repair a finicky pinball machine, as they are always breaking down. My system should be trouble-free for many years. Some day I may build a more authentic looking cabinet so it looks and feels more like a real pinball machine.
