Great product with way too many bugs
I like the device a lot. It's got a great screen, lots of processing power, great handwriting recognition, and some really innovative features, like letting you ink in any app. The case also has page turn buttons, which I find really great in an ereader. But the UI feels like a first draft of a UI. There's just lots of little bugs that get in the way of using it. I'm hoping BigMe is committed to fixing these soon because if they do, at this price point, it will truly be a fantastic product. I downgraded by a star because even though BigMe is issuing regular updates, it's not fixing bugs. I actually don't think they want to sell in the U.S. market because many apps are entirely in Chinese.

A Great Find!
There is a growing array of e-ink devices to choose from these days, and I'd never heard of BigMe before. But I'm glad I have 'em a shot. I'd tried the Boox Tax Mini C (with a color screen) and was disappointed by the poor contrast between the background and lettering. And, years ago, I had a Boox tablet that disappointed on many front, including their technical support. Judging by the Amazon reviews on their products, customer satisfaction still remains a low priority for Boox. But BigMe -- despite the silly name -- is a whole different experience. I don't have their color tablet but the black-and-white version provides contrast on par with the Kindle Paperwhite. The stylus is lovely and powerful, including a laser pointer, automatic charging, and on-pen controls. The built-in apps are excellent, the Google Play store is built-in, and the battery life, while not as good as on a Paperwhite, is still good enough to defeat range anxiety, especially if you turn off wi-fi and Bluetooth when not needed. But it's the customer service that sets this company apart. For example, I noticed that the physical buttons on the case were not turning pages in the Kindle app. I emailed tech support. They emailed back! A real person, not an auto-responder! And the problem was fixed with the very next update, a couple of weeks later. My sense is that Boox and others are racing each other to deploy new feature sets, ignoring flaws in the core feature sets. Not so with BigMe. They seem to know that reliable, capable core functionality is what turns a gimmicky gadget into the workhorse that my S6 has become.

Worked until it didn’t 2
Just like another reviewer had posted, I had my bigme notebook for three months, and can no longer get past the initial screen. I’ve switched chargers and plugs. I see the light on charging it, but there’s nothing I can do to switch off of the original screen. Consider that there are two people that are posting the same problem before you purchase. Unlike the other buyer, I am past the return window. So I am now out $369. Very frustrating.

Review update* Although I was disappointed with the product itself, the company offered me a full refund, which is greatly appreciated. Cheap product with very buggy user interface. I was hoping this would be a solid device to read on without being limited to any one source for my books. I was mistaken. Save your money and by a Boox Nova Air 3
