Handy scanner mouse
I read all the other reviews and obtained some decent little scans - big scans would be more trouble, so anything from a postage stamp size up to about A5 is OK. The OCR works better than when I last tried such software, several years ago, and gets the text all but perfect. I think the large glass area under the mouse, which is used for scanning, could perhaps get scratched on a normal cluttered desk, so I do not use the scanner-mouse as just a mouse very much, also its cord is quite stiff with all the extra leads it neeeds inside, so it requires more space than a typical mouse for the cord to clear obstructions. If you keep a clean empty desk neither of these would affect you much. There was a software update available soon after installation (March 2014) which rather spoilt its operation, so I have reverted to the software as supplied, which is very flexible and works well.. It is easy to use, of good quality and I like it rather more than some other reviewers seem to

SUPER MOUSE!
Having used flatbed and wand scanners for many years I have finally found a scanner that surpasses them all. It's only limitation is the size of the computer it connects to for portability, in which case I would recommend a note pad. Ideal for copying recipes and news articles from any source. If used steadily you are also able to copy the smallprint off cylindrical items such as bottles and cans for those all important safety warnings and 'how to use' instructions. Oh, and don't forget, when you've tired of scanning everything in sight, it's an excellent mouse. All in all it has to be the best thing since the last best thing since sliced bread.

Arrived on time. Apparently discontinued now - can't think why. Works very well once you've got the knack and allows scans of otherwise difficult media

Too easy to catch the scan button by accident
Takes a lot of practice to achieve consistent results. Too easy to catch the scan button by accident.

I am an avid needle worker and many times my charts are printed on poster size paper which can be very trying and the folding and unfolding really takes it toll. It is for this reason that I purchased the scanner mouse and while I like the mouse, there are a few issues I ran into. The window on the bottom of the mouse has a slight lip which snags the the document every time I reach the edge. Almost always, I have to lift the mouse and that marks the end of that scan. You have to start all over. I wish there was something that could be affixed to the bottom on the scanner to cover the lip without compromising the quality of the scan. Another idea would be to have transparent sheets that can be placed over a document that extends beyond the edges so the mouse doesn't have to come in contact with the document edges. I also found, at least for me, that the mouse has to travel in a consistent direction. While scanning, the moment that direction or angle changes in the least, the image of the scan starts to twist and turn. For instance, part of the scan is perfectly horizontal but at the point the angle changed, the image will distort and bend. Again, I have to start all over. The location of the scan button is such that I unintentionally click it while moving the mouse across the document which ends the scan. On a normal mouse, it is the location of the back button. Another issue is the usb cord which in my opinion is way too short and gets in the way all the time. The mouse definitely needs to be wireless. So there you have it. One customers review on the mouse scanner. Don't get me wrong, I like it. I just think there needs to be a few tweaks.

Effettivamente assai comodo e molto preciso..
