Product itself is good quality and does a fair job of splitting logs. The safety guard is a bit fiddly to fit. Instructions say it is best to raise one end of the machine so why not just manufacture a longer leg!!! Quite heavy at approx. 30kg Only problem was with delivery - asked for Thursday delivery and prior contact so I was able to be at address to receive parcel. This did not happen as delivery was made a day earlier at 17:15 despite FedEx advising a time of 09:20 - 13:20 for a delivery but did not advise who they were delivering on behalf of.

After much deliberation we decided on a log splitter ( having always worried about the safety of a chainsaw) Over the years we have turned away free fuel because the logs were too big. We have put our backs out on numerous occasions using a log splitter axe, we have wasted days chopping wood. Now we are at a point that we can't physically manage the backlash so it was a case of pay for pre chopped wood ( £250 a bag) lose the logburner or splash out £315 and be self sufficient. This sturdy, compact log splitter is a total game changer! We have it on a work bench. It is heavy but it needs to be and it has a handle and 2 wheels to move into position. It splits large logs with ease and speed. Easy to set up, easy and effcient to use. It's worth every penny. We are allocating our winter fuel allowance to pay for it. When we have logs that fit the fire, we don't need the gas central heating on and now we can accept free large logs that previously we couldn't. It is a fantastic and efficient piece of equipment. Wish we had known about it years ago. I obviously read lots of excellent reviews before purchasing and am happy to report they were all well deserved. Trust me, you will be like a kid a Christmas after you hit that switch and watch the ease in which it splits the largest of logs!

Absolutely Brilliant 👍 I used the wood splitter 4 the 1st time today, Amazing piece of kit. Cut through the tree stumps I was given with ease !!!! But ??? I didn't fit the guards 😔 as they restrict you movement of the stumps as they were quite large and not round ???? Just make sure that your wood stumps or logs are secure and stable when placed and sitting in the well part ! And not moving about, then when you start your splitter make sure when the point bit Start to push into the log of stump it doesn't start to move or ride up ??? If it does just stop the process, replace the wood , and start again, because most of my stumps were really awkward pieces, I had to replace the several times, but it only takes a mo ! If you don't stop the process if the stump or wood is not secure it will jump up or out of the guides / well base etc ! Also you must wear the appropriate PPE, safety goggles n gloves. Definitely the buy of the year 4 me, Always work slow and safe

I bought myself a manual log splitter many years ago (the cheaper option) that did the job but was hard work at times. That finally packed up recently so i decided to invest in this little beauty. I was worried about the cost, but our fire is small so i needed to get something to spit the wood we use. AMAZING!!!! I havent bothered with safety guards to be honest but it is recommended. I use this in the garage to spit the wood and it does it with ease. Why didnt i invest sooner!!!! Highly recommended!

Took ages to assemble due to poor instructions. Had a nut and bolt missing from the pack, fortunately I had one so could improvise. Spring clips that hold the wheels on are a nightmare to remove and refit unless you have the proper tool. In the end I slung them and used split pins (hole provided in shaft) to retain the wheels. Would it cost that much more to provide a basic tool to do this job? I use to split my brought in cut logs with a small axe and hammer but it was starting to cause back problems so I invested in this. A game changer and It goes through the logs like butter. Well worth the money, and unless you have a work bench to put it on I would recommend the separate stand that goes with it even though it is a bit of a palaver to put together. Also be aware, the splitter is very heavy.

I have been manually cutting down my log delivery to more appropriate sizes for a few years, but I'm not able to stand to do it and I have hurt myself on more than one occasion so a log splitter is my saviour. I chose the forest master for its reviews and I have not been disappointed, it splits both soft and hardwood, they recommend the next size up for the hardwood, but I have had no issues and I'm happy to recommend. Mine came with a full stand and safety cage, but I don't need that so I have not set them up. Overall this has made my life so much easier, definitely my sore muscles are very relieved.

A must buy ausom bit of kit , saved us days of hacking logs

I have literally never written a review before but I this product is so good I felt I had to. We bought this nearly a year ago. We have split at least 5 large pick-up truck full of logs and it is still going strong. Easily splitting a large pick-up truck full in a short afternoon. The splitter has split almost every log we have put in it, including well seasoned oak. For being a relatively small splitter it is great and is easy to use. It is one of the best things I have ever bought and has saved an incredible amount of back ache and hard work. It does struggle with the very biggest hardest logs with lots of knots. But we only had a few of these. If you have lots of wood to split I would highly recommend it, worth every penny.
