Worked great. Way easier than making my own substrate. I grew some Oyster mushrooms just so I could learn how mushrooms grow and a little about Mycology. This is a lot of substrate and went a long way.

I’ve used this twice, both soil were sterilized and both created a full flush. I’d purchase again however I recommend using more inoculated grain and less soil when layering. The soil can easily suffocate the grain, making it grow slower and/or causes it to mold.

I purchased two bags of substrate and found objects in both bags as I was mixing my inoculated grain. I was hoping for the best and continued on, pulled the objects out, and pressed on. But contamination hit and it hit hard. Of my 4 tubs, ALL of them were trashed despite my best efforts. I've been growing for close to a year now, this isn't my first rodeo by any means. I'd love to say that the value is good but you're not getting good quality for the same type of dirt that I could find in my backyard mixed with some dog poop. Honestly, at least I would know what was in it. I wasn't able to identify what these items were - one of them was stretchy like a piece of elastic. The other item was incredibly sharp and almost cut me through my gloves, like a piece of metal perhaps? No idea. I just know that I'm out the money and out 4 tubs of inoculated grain (not to mention the cost of all that...)

This worked great and I really appreciate not having to mix my own mulch. No issues and it works well. Experiencing no issues using it at all and my mushrooms are thriving.
