Love these shoes!
I love my Chacos! These are my 5th pair. I got black to go with anything. The straps make it easy to eliminate rubbing. Not everyone likes the style, but I wear them for comfort. They give a hiker vibe and are versatile enough to wear hiking or anywhere else.

Great sandal that feels very secure
I first tried this brand with an ill fitting sandal I later learned had been discontinued - but I kept hearing good things about the "Z" series sandals. I decided to go with this one with a toe loop as I plan to be wearing these on the water, for some light hiking, and generally out and about. I'm glad I picked these ones up as they feel absolutely nailed to my feet. There's no slipping or feeling of being loose. They come with instructions on how to adjust the straps around your feet, but they have a guide on their website if yours weren't included or you accidentally threw them out. I leave the toe a bit loose when I'm wearing them casually and tighten them up a bit when I need to make sure my feet don't slip. Very happy with my purchase and I'll share pictures soon, including how I keep the strap from dragging on the ground!

Toe loop is not for everyone
I am lucky. I have arches - not low arches, nor high arches. This makes the toe loop version of this sandal fine for my purposes. If you have low arches, the chaco classic has a pronounced arch support and has been reported as painful by those with low arches. Meanwhile, high arches can be punished by the toe loop - this feature adds much-needed stability when walking down steep inclines or in wet conditions, but has been noted to "strangle" the toe after a time. This is not too bad unless you have high arches - the arch support is ideal, but the toe loop has been reported to tighten much more quickly. For high arch individuals who want to try out chacos, the Z1 is your better bet. Same sandal, no toe loop. For low arch, something the a Bedrock Cairn Evo or Teva Original might be more what you need. If in doubt, a podiatrist should be consulted. I'm some random internet guy and I'm serving hot opinions, not medical advice. I love this sandal, though. It feels so supportive and resilient. I have put miles into it and had few of the issues people talk about when first using this sandal. That is because I wore them slowly, building up to a walk after a week of wearing them at home and in the yard. These are major hiking boot soles with straps and absolutely no insoles to cushion them - they need a little time to soften up and there is no padding or other material to hide this fact. Do not buy these days before you go hiking in them. Your feet won't be ready (unless you already use Chacos) and the sandals won't be ready. Assuming you take the softly, softly approach to ramping up, these are sandals that you can spend the entire day walking. They are grippy, airy, quick-drying, and generally comfortable. I love them and I am a Chaco convert.

Love, but don't get the ones with toe straps if your feet are different sizes!
Cannot say enough positive things about this brand and quality of shoes. I have had a well used pair for almost 10 years now. Amazing arch support and helped me with plantar fascia when I ran cross country. If you have feet that are slightly different sizes, you may want to opt for the z1 as the toe straps will feel uneven on each foot.

Great Sandals
Chacos are great sandals and they are good for plantar fasciitis.

Best all around sandal
Great fit, super comfortable to wear all day long. This is my go to sandal all year long. I love wearing this outside because of their support and rugged durability. Great choice of styles and colors. Would highly recommend.

Toe Strap or Not to Toe Strap - That is the Question
This is my first pair of Chacos and I couldn’t be happier! I went with all black, my size, and the toe strap. There is debate on whether or not the toe strap rocks or not, and I tell you this now reader - the toe strap is the shizzle! I honestly got it because of the added style the toe strap offers, but honestly out of other sandals I’ve worn without toe straps I do see a significant improvement in functionality. First off, they don’t flip or flop which is lovely. Secondly, they are more secure to your foot so walking in them is easier as they stay in place. They take 2-3 days to break in, but once you wear them around the house for a bit you will be good to go! I had to get use to walking in sandals because I’ve been a flip flop guy for so long, but after a couple days I got my footing and am very satisfied with this purchase. I love the toe strap - and I think if you’re looking for an awesome fitting sandal with some personality then get it! If you’ve been debating - get it. Worse case scenario is you can also pull the strap for the toe down and not wear it. Really happy with my first pair of Chacos!

Chacos aren’t for everyone
Chacos aren’t for everyone. They pinch your big toe. Not for me. However, the quality and value are high.

Product was fine, ordered an EU 41.5 W but instead got delivered an EU 42 W so would obviously be too large for me.
