Bowie: The Illustrated Story Review: A great introduction to Bowie's opus - A very lively and yet retrospective synopsis of Bowie's career from the very beginning. I think this is perhaps the most informed book about Bowie that encapsulates his creative genius before he was finally famous and also captures his mindset to a degree where this is not a psychological treatise but a celebration of his bravery to try new things and what effects it had on Bowie's fan base throughout the years. A great introduction to Bowie's opus, especially for those who did not grow up in the experimental phase of the 70's, (though not so far from preceeding 60's inspirations), that Bowie seemed to have molded to suit his strengths and then took drastic directions in his approach, and the risks, to achieve far more fetching results that were not immediately accessible to the public at the time of his some of his releases. A vivid account of a visionary artist before his time but an acknowledgment of his challenges especially in in light of his inclinations, no matter how derived, that changed the music world and allowed him a subsequent career as a classic icon still in motion. Review: Excellent - Was given as a gift. According to my spouse, it was the PERFECT GIFT.

Beautiful All Around
Doesn't have any information hardcore Bowie fans wouldn't know, and it's mostly focused on a certain era of his life. But, the book itself has a wonderful cover texture and the image of the face on the white is stark and awesome. The images inside are of good quality, too. Overall a very nice purchase.

An excellent Bowie book.
I've been a huge David Bowie fan since 1973, and have an extensive collection. This book covers Bowie's entire life and incorporates many photographs, albums and singles cover art, and other memorabilia. There are many photographs I've never seen before. This book is beautifully designed and is an excellent introduction to Bowie's life and career. I highly recommend it.

Great book but I question if it’s new
I thought I was getting a brand new book, but this one is scuffed a little and the edges are dented.

Arrived clean and undamaged, however the book was not wrapped in any way inside the box so your results may vary. Overall this is an excellent book, hard cover and well bound. The photos are excellent, clear and printed glossy. Purchased for a die hard fan who was overjoyed at receiving this book.
