Inexpensive Touchscreen CarPlay Upgrade!
Installed this portable CarPlay screen in my Honda Odyssey and it works great. Setup was very easy—no complicated wiring, just mount it, connect, and go. Wireless Apple CarPlay connects quickly every time, and the touchscreen is responsive and clear. I love having Maps, Music, and Messages right on the screen without replacing the factory stereo. The backup camera is a nice bonus and works well. This is a perfect upgrade for older vehicles like mine. Highly recommend!

great carplay screen
I love this portable screen. It improved my driving experience. I wanted CarPlay without ripping out my entire dashboard. This was the perfect solution. Installation was incredibly easy. I just stuck it to the dash and plugged it in. It was ready to go in literally five minutes. The suction cup is very strong and secure. It is very stable sitting on the dashboard. My phone connects wirelessly the second I start the car. The touchscreen is crisp and bright. It is very easy to see, even in direct sunlight. The touch response is snappy. Using maps and spotify is a joy now. It feels just like a brand-new car. The audio flexibility is also a huge plus. I use the AUX output to connect to my car speakers. The sound quality is crystal clear and loud. The Bluetooth connection is rock solid. It works perfectly and does everything it says.

Received a replacement
So I bought this for my work truck about 5 months ago. It's okay, works as intended except one HUGE problem. The wireless Android Auto constantly disconnects. Sometimes it'll work fine for a few minutes and then lock up... And then reconnect on its own after a few minutes. Or it'll lock up and disconnect from the phone. Rebooting (by unplugging the power cord and plugging back in) it always fixes it. Happens randomly driving around town and in rural country. Happens morning, noon, and night. It's a huge pain while using Google maps, I missed so many turns! I troubleshot it for months and finally gave up (thought maybe something interfering in the truck or maybe an issue with my phone); now I just use it for Bluetooth streaming cause it stays connected flawlessly for basic Bluetooth streaming. And I know the issue doesn't stem from my phone because I've tried multiple phones. I even took this unit out of my work truck and put it in my dad's car and the same issue continues! And it's so random... once in a while it'll work for 30 min straight and then start locking up/ disconnecting. But mostly, it starts within the first five minutes of driving. And I use wireless Android Auto in my Mazda CX30 with absolutely no disconnects whatsoever in that car. I've used Android Auto in rental cars with no issues. Update: The company reached out to me; I was a little surprised. They offered to send a replacement unit. I received that a couple days ago and so far it's been solid with no disconnects. So it appears the issue was just just hardware... We'll see how it works over time and I'll update this later. Been a week and still no issues. It works as I always hoped it would now and for the price, it's such a value.

Real user review
We have a 2005 Honda CRV and I wanted to add a backup camera, but I was also interested in Android Auto. I usually just mount my phone to the dash and use that for music and maps (I already added bluetooth a few years ago to the car). But with the added screen, I needed something to replace the functionality of the phone that would no longer be on the dash. And Android auto fits the bill for sure (but that's not really what this review is about). Honestly, the price was a factor, but the reviews were more what swayed me. I would have paid double this for a unit that works really well and will last considering how much effort it is to install and run wires. For this review, I'll start with the cons, because I think they're more important and outweigh the pros heavily: CONS - The backup camera is AWFUL. A-W-F-U-L. If any kind of sun hits it, all you get is silhouettes. And despite the listing here, it does not do well at night. It's just a black screen with some things barely lit up by the reverse lights. Also, not sure how this is 170 degrees. The thing has no peripherals. I'm always scared I'm going to hit someone. Also, the guidelines for the camera on the screen CAN be edited, but they do not save and just revert back to the default, which for me make them totally useless. Honestly, I think that this camera makes my car less safe than more, which was kind of the entire point. - The screen quality is kind of awful too. At night it's a little easier to see, but generally, google maps on Android auto is so hard to tell the difference between roads and everything else. In direct sun, forget about it. You will lose your way with directions. I tried night mode and changing all of the display settings and could not get the image to be any clearer. Also the display has this weird blue/green tinge that makes it hard to see certain colors. There's a "hue" setting in the display settings but the slider does not seem to do anything. - Instructions were basically non-existent. They tell you to wire the camera to the positive on your reverse lights and then send you out into the world. PROS - Surprisingly, given the other issues, the touchscreen is pretty responsive and works well. There's maybe a tiny but of lag, but it's not really noticeable. I was expecting something less snappy. - The length on the cable for the backup camera was thankfully long enough - I like that they give you 4 options to get audio to your stereo. Originally buying this, I thought I'd use bluetooth. But I found that the aux out was actually more convenient and had better quality (also bluetooth from phone to unit, then unit to car seemed a little much). Overall, if I could go back and do it again I'd pay more money for something with a better camera (though how you're supposed to know, I have no idea. the reviews I read here said that it was great, but obviously something fishy is going on there).
