UPDATE AUTUMN 2024: I just replaced the HEPA filter from a year ago (see pics). The GoodVac After Market Parts is an excellent and affordable alternative to Sharp's OEM filters, and I will happily continue with GoodVac for both of my Sharp Air Purifiers (same model). I'm asthmatic and immune suppressed, so having clean air is imperative for me. GoodVac HEPA filter + 3 charcoal filters makes it possible for me to use my Sharp Air Purifiers, with a noticeable improvement in air quality & odor decrease. Use with confidence, change filters as needed for your area (tip: write month/year you place the filter on the top, so you can gauge frequency of replacement needs). Note that some of the black on the HEPA is from the charcoal filter, which is normal. I try to regularly vacuum both charcoal & HEPA filters to extend their useful lifespan (I got about 11 months from the HEPA, and that's with 4 cats in the house!). I've used this HEPA filter for a few years. I was pleased to see that they now have a bundle with charcoal filters. I have not tried the charcoal filters yet but the thickness and density appear to be as good as the filters I have been using without having to cut them down to size. Just wish the charcoal filters came with a frame so that it covers the HEPA filter well without any gaps between them.

You get both the inner and outer filter all at once. I paid $32 but today they are a couple of bucks cheaper. I saw some critical reviews about this filter set and was hesitant to buy them but the OE Sharp filters are over $100 and I just couldn't stomach that price. I didn't really see any sign of charcoal in the charcoal activated (black) filters but maybe it's in there. It's true that the black filters do not come with a frame like the OE version and they are thinner, but the instructions clearly say that you get two of them and need to use both to achieve OE thickness. Lack of the frame doesn't seem to cause any issues. The HEPA filter looks to be a one for one replacement of OE. I have no idea if these are as effective as the originals but since I'm not trying to filter harmful allergens from the air for sensitive individuals, I'm fine paying less than 1/3 the cost for what has to be at least somewhat effective results. If you want guaranteed filtration at OE filter levels you probably should consider parting with the C-Note. for the OE replacements.

Fits better than the OEM filter. The Sharp replacement price is so expensive it would’ve been the same price for me to buy a whole new machine that includes a filter. Kind of like what Epson charges for printer cartridges. Finally, a reasonable price for a good HEPA replacement filter with charcoal.
