So when my boiler system started leaking out of this particular valve, I was of course in the market for a new one. I never knew there were so many different manufacturers of the same item to choose from. Holy crap. On the bright side however my father-in-law has been a plumber for about 50 years and after a quick phone call in his direction I narrowed my search down to well, this one. The only thing he cautioned me on was to look at the old one before you replace it and make sure the new one has the same markings PSI etc etc, and other than that it's pretty easy. Shut off the water supply, relieve the pressure, unscrew the old one and with the use of a little bit of thread tape, screw this one on and snug it down. The whole repair took me about 4 minutes.

Exactly what was needed to replace a failed pressure relief valve on our boiler. Of course it failed in the cold of winter. Timely delivery and was able to keep my family warm.

I have never had an occasion to need it. It is a blow-off valve that is actuated when water pressure becomes dangerously high. Since that situation has not occurred (thankfully) I cannot speak to the valve’s effectiveness. I can only say it appears to be well made with brass, stainless steel and a neoprene (?) gasket, and it was reasonably priced.

Works for the application on the tankless hot water heater. Swap out of original was quick & easy, ensure proper thread size & pressure rating when purchasing.
