Easy to fit and worked perfectly

I had to write a review for these amazing little reducing nuts/screws. I'm not in engineering or manufacturing and don't have any damaged M8 internal threads (& I'm still not entirely sure of the main use for these items), so wanted to add this review in case others have the same issue as me and can confirm these solved my problem perfectly. We wanted to replace some oak legs on an old ottoman, with new bespoke black walnut legs. Unfortunately we ordered the wrong size threaded screws for the new legs (we ordered M6, where we should have ordered M8 - completely our own fault [always measure twice!!!]). Annoyed at our (costly) mistake, we assumed we had several options; replace the screws in the legs, replace the inserts in the ottoman, or try to find a way to adapt what we had. I found these reduction nuts/screw that act as perfect 'washers' and now my M6 screws fit my M8 inserts. As mentioned, I'm posting this to show my use - apologies if this is obvious and their intended use. FYI, yes they can break - one went in at an angle while I was trying to put the leg in with the M8 adaptor already on it, and in trying to get it out, the screwdriver grooved end did break off, so I have to flag this happened, so depending on the strength you need these do have a weakness, however I was able to get this part out easily and put a new one in. After this, it was better/safer to put these parts into the ottoman M8 holes first and then screw the M6 legs in to the reduced size hole. For my purposes the strength is not an issue and these are wonderful and are a much more cost effective and labour saving solution all round. Am chuffed I searched for an item I didn't even know existed and found these (I also went to a builders merchant and a specialist bolt/fixing supplier, but neither seemed to know that such products even existed). Amazon to the rescue - thank you for solving my problem so quickly and easily.

Work well never really used them till now good item

I used these to bolt a bracket to a fibre glass boat. They did the job, but they are made of quite brittle metal so some of them broke up as I screwed them into the holes that I had drilled into the fibre glass. They'll probably screw directly into softer material but you'll need to tap some threads into anything harder.

Thread repair for diesel injectors on Mercedes sprinter, much better than the machine shop repair. Tapped out to m8 with rocker cover still on, then screwed two off these down the hole giving 30mm of threads, very secure while fastening down, even through the 90 deg second stage.
