The media could not be loaded. I'd mislaid (probably 'borrowed' but never returned) my existing stud wall scanner, and I needed to do some work.I started by borrowing a friend's scanner. Although I was grateful for the help, his device was cheap and nasty.I ordered this device from Amazon, and as always from Amazon, it arrived the very next morning. Immediately, I was surprised at how pleased I was with the scanner.All the functions you would expect, of course, but there are other things that, whilst simple, help. For example, the pouch for the scanner is a perfect fit for the scanner and the brilliant instruction booklet. I know it sounds silly, but how often have you seen a symbol and not know what it meant? :).The booklet notwithstanding, I scanned the wall I'd used my friend's scanner. My new device showed three alerts, two of which hadn't been alerted on my friend's scanner.My device will happily sit in my car all the time now as a reliable and handy backup.

I’ve ordered several of these stud checkers in the past they all operate exactly the same after the third or fourth use they become pretty much useless because they’re scratching or damaging the wall when they moved around the wall. Despite keeping in the pouch provided. This one seemed to work just fine and was happy with the accuravy. and very lightweight which could be detrimental, depending on its use. This is not necessarily a professional product but very useful for lighter domestic use

I bought this device to locate the wooden studs in my son’s room to attach a television bracket. Not only does it locate the wooden studs, but it tells you where the stud starts and ends so you can pin point the centre to attain the correct anchor point. The unit also detects metallic objects such as screws/nails within to he studs and backs this up with a strong magnet located on the back of the unit. The device also detects electric cables within the wall and gives a warning if it detects an A/C current, this was particularly useful and saved me from a potential electric shock when detecting a lighting cable in the roof space of my extension which I thought was disconnected, but was indeed live!

The device is so inaccurate that using it could be a liability!It would appear that my walls are (implausibly) riddled with mains wiring - not just above or below sockets and switches, but almost everywhere.I was looking for a device with sufficient accuracy to tell me which end of a socket or switch the mains cables emerge, not just IF there are hidden mains cables present somewhere.The way the device seems to work is that you slide it towards where you expect a cable to be from one side, mark the wall, and repeat from the other side. The cable is then located at the mid-point between the two marks. Well, that's the theory.However, if the switch/socket is close to the end of a wall (say, close to a door), then this process goes out the window ... with potentially electrifying results if you come to drill a hole in a 'safe' location.

Feels cheap, it's cheap, uses not so common batteries, but, works fine, I made a few drills in the past weeks and this tool guided me well.I'd probably look for other other brands and check the battery type before buying one of these tools.

This is absolutely essential when putting things up on the wall and this product works excellently 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It is a waste of time and money buying one of these , it is probably a very good detector, BUT , the accompanying instructions are useless, making it unusable, just a basic " How to use it " guide might get this product great reviews , but as it is 2 stars , and that's being generous
