Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, FrontFill Drip Coffee Maker

I must have one of the good ones because I've had this for 5 years and no problem with leaks, smell, brew, or low temp coffee. It functions perfectly. The coffee is the hottest I've had from a coffee maker. I really like the front-load water tank because I keep it on the counter under an overhead kitchen cabinet. When this one kicks the bucket, I'll buy another one just like it. I've been drinking coffee for over 50 years and it's better than a lot of specialty coffee. Just make sure you buy good quality beans and measure them out for consistency.

Excellent coffee maker. This is a simple, purpose built, coffee brewing device. It does not connect with your phone via Bluetooth, play music, nor dance a jig. It simply makes coffee and it does the job very well! I recommend this product.

I have tried two of these. They both worked well. 2nd one was hard to put in carafe. Taking off a star because they don't last. First one failed after about 2 years from steam hitting the display circuit board. The 2nd one failed after a few months with the heating element on the burner plate breaking. It the race to enshitification, they omit a clean cycle reset button. So to reset the clean light you have to unplug the pot, which of course forces you to reset the clock. (Would it have been too hard to do this by holding a button for 3 seconds instead?) Upgraded to the Taylor Swoden which has some nice fixes, a clean reset button, a simpler design, and should last longer.

I’m on my third on of these coffee makers in 20 some years. For the price and convenience of the front fill you can’t go wrong. Unless you’re a coffee snob it makes a good cup without fuss fairly quickly. I hope they continue to make this product.

Neither my husband nor I are coffee drinkers, but we have many family members who are. We had an old Mr. Coffee who should have been called, "Mr. Reliable." Since he was getting on in years, we felt it wise to invest in an economical, low-tech, potential work-horse of a coffee maker primarily for guests and entertaining. Enter Amazon, research, and reviews finally deciding on this model. Now please do not mourn for Mr. Coffee, he is still with us residing in the pantry for emergency service when needed. This particular Hamilton Beach model fit the bill of reasonably priced, low-tech, easy to use and clean, and hardworking from a well established and reliable company. Mr. Hamilton Beach has been in our employ for almost 3 years now, and what an outstanding employee he has been. He has served at multiple parties and family gatherings; he has hosted many, many house guests, and has reliably made coffee when asked to do so. We have no complaints about this faithful servant. The programmable feature, the Select-a-Brew component, the attractive look, and certainly not least of all the delicious coffee others always comment upon when served have all contributed to the enjoyment and functionality of this attractive, unobtrusive coffee maker. The 24 hour preprogramming coupled with the 2 hour shut off give peace of mind whenever it is in use. The swing out basket makes cleaning simple and easy. There have been no malfunctions, leaks, discolorations, or chips or cracks in the carafe. All in all, Mr. Hamilton Beach Programmable Coffee has been a great addition to our kitchen staff! I thought it was just me - maybe I don’t know how to make coffee (even though I used to do it for a living), but thankfully, now reading all of the reviews, it’s not just me! I bought this coffee maker because of the front-fill design and the way my kitchen is set up. I thought it would be nice to not have to pull the coffee maker forwards/push it back all the time. My counter top where this sits is now stained with coffee after overflowing coffee grounds and coffee multiple times. If I only want to make 4 “cups” of coffee, I haven’t had a problem. Anything more than that is a roll of the dice if grounds will go all over the place. This past weekend, I actually had to pour the brewed coffee through another filter to catch a bunch of grounds. (Thankfully, I’ve since put a mat under the coffee maker itself, so none got on the counter this time…) If I put in the proper amount of coffee grounds and water for 12 cups, there will be coffee and grounds everywhere, but even if by some miracle there isn’t, it only fills up to about 10 cups in the carafe. For those wondering, I use properly ground beans (not too fine, not too coarse). I use 2 tablespoons per “cup” (a coffee “cup” isn’t a cup in the 8oz sense, hence the quotes). I use filtered water and I regularly clean the coffee maker. I haven’t been able to find anything that prevents it, short of only brewing 4-5 cups, which is not ideal if there are two of us. The coffee it brews is fine. I haven’t had any issues with the flavor, temperature, or anything else actually brew/taste wise. The coffee machine doesn’t beep (when done or when the hot plate shuts off), which some have complained about, but I don’t mind at all. The carafe does have the little plastic lip which does leave a small amount of coffee (or water, if rinsing/cleaning) in it. Isn’t the end of the world for me because I don’t need that thimble-full of coffee. It’s only very slightly annoying when washing - but I just dry it out with a paper towel and call it a day. I’ll keep using this machine until I either get sick of the coffee grounds spillage (at which time, this coffee maker will almost certainly be taken out back for the Office Space printer treatment) or until it breaks, mostly because I’m too lazy to buy another one unless it’s actively spewing grounds everywhere - and at the time, I’m too busy cleaning up a huge mess to order a new one in the moment.

I love this coffee maker.... Both Water(generous receptacle ) and Coffee (swing out basket)can be loaded from the front of the machine without having to move the coffee maker..Low profile fits under the kitchen cabinets ..It brews nicely with 3 brewing options ..Everything is simply easy to enjoy a great cup of coffee

Makes great coffee. Unlike our previous model, the coffee is hot. Easy to load, program, and clean. Nice looking. Very happy.
