Excellent for our 9yr old, although not without some quirks
It's a brilliant device for our daughter who makes her own Spotify playlists. This has opened a new world for her and she loves it. Usability from her perspective is dead simple and air tight, without issue, as it's uncomplicated and simply does what it's intended to. However for the administrator, that is, the parent, it's quirky. As others have said the software on the phone and synch experience is glitchy and slow. Firmware updates never complete or synchs go on and on and it's unclear what's happened. Bluetooth headphone volume control doesn't work with expensive Sony noise cancelling, but works fine with wired headphones. If you're patient and indulge the fact that this isn't an apple device (remember the iPod nano? ) then you'll love it. If you struggle with technology and "yet another app" then maybe wait until they've got the bugs worked out. It's also expensive for what it is. Still it's a brilliant idea and fills a void in the market. And the nightly auto synch / playlist update feature is brilliant. Highly recommended if you have a kid who likes music.

Mighty piece of garbage
Update: My son was able to get it to complete the update sequence on his phone. And now it will update from my app on my phone. I've had it almost a year and with a lot of time and effort, I can get it to work. But every 30 days, it forces me to reconnect because it doesn't recognize my Spotify membership. Says it's a 30 day trial. So it won't play my music. Then I reconnect and download updates, and it won't recognize it. 30 minutes later, I still haven't gone on a run, because I'm monkeying around with this stupid thing. Eventually, with reconnecting and repeating it will work, if you have time to spend on it. Don't waste your money. Find something else. I cannot believe how expensive this thing is. I think that is the only reason I kept trying to make it work. The Mighty 3 is a mighty piece of garbage. I was initially able to get some playlists downloaded from my Spotify account. However, they could not be very large. Then it kept promoting me to initiate an update, which I did. During the update it would just freeze on step 3 and never complete the sequence. So I went to the company's troubleshooting page and walked through all their recommendations: uninstall the app, reinstall the app, turn it off, turn it on, blah blah blah. It still wouldn't update. The last resort was a factory reset. So I did that. And now it doesn't work at all. When I contacted the company, they want me to videotape it not working at all and send them the video. Not sure I'm willing to spend anymore time on this, especially when I don't feel confident they will make good on their warranty promise. Also, to video it's inability to function with the app on my phone, I need to involve someone else to take the video. So nothing about any of this is convenient. If only I could find a use for a little plastic square with a blinking light that does absolutely nothing. Also, I spent 125.00 on this piece of junk.

Perfect for the intended use.
Had it several weeks for gym use and running with Beats Studio+ or Open Run headphones and syncing using a high end 5G Android tablet. This thing is small, weights nothing and clips anywhere. Syncing with Spotify and connecting with the phones has been flawless. The Android app is clear and easy to use. No issues. I generally do not do reviews, but this is one product that is designed and performs as advertised. Since I prefer not to use a smartphone (using a flip phone on the go with a tablet around the house), the Mighty has proved perfect for working out. Simple and it works. There have been very infrequent (maybe twice so far) tracks that had 1-2 seconds of static, but it's uncertain whether that is a corrupted download, the bluetooth connection, or the Mighty. The only means of changing the exact play order on the unit is to change it in Spotify and resync. The Mighty can be switched to shuttle. Do I wish it had a longer battery life for traveling? Yes, but it is as advertised at 8 hrs and comfortably meets the gym or 5K duration. Also, it uses a small phono type plug/USB A dongle for recharging; I would prefer a USB C, B or a more easily replaceable non-proprietary interface. I generally do not do reviews, but this is one product that is designed and performs as advertised. Since I prefer not to use a smartphone (using a flip phone on the go with a tablet around the house), the Mighty has proved perfect for the gym and running. Simple and it works. UPDATE: I have found that with the Studio Beats the Mighty intermittently fails to automatically launch the next track which can be pain while on a treadmill. The Beats Studio Buds (an Apple product) required an Android app to pair with the Android 13 tablet that runs the Spotify and feeds my Mighty. Using the Trekz or using a plug-in headphone works absolutely without fail. The manufacturer should target this for a software fix.

It is what it is...
TLDR Pros - lightweight - good battery life - plays my spotify playlist offline - easy to use when songs are loaded - looks nice Cons - feels cheap - the app sucks - weird limitation that each playlist can have 500 tracks max - can be janky at times So just like all the other reviews your results may vary. I personally really like my mighty. It's very lightweight and the perfect device for me on my long jogs as I don't want to carry my phone or burn the battery life on my smart watch to play my spotify playlist. The device itself is fine, it does feel pretty cheap as it's made entirely out of light flimsy plastic and the clamp on the back is a little weak but it works. Just don't expect an ipod shuffle level of quality. The battery does last pretty long. On my longest outings, roughly 4 hours, it hasn't died on me once as long as I've charged it beforehand. The fact that it uses the audio jack to charge is strange to me and I'd have personally liked to have a usb c port but it works. Just like most of the reviews, the worst thing about this device is its companion app that you NEED to use for the device to work. When I first got my mighty the app did not support android 14 and yeah my phone could not connect to my mighty at all. Not sure if this has been updated but for the price you'd hope that their software was up to date. Luckily I had my old phone that ran android 12 and that seemed to work just fine. The process of downloading a spotify playlist is pretty long. I think my 500 songs took almost an hour to download on the device. Also the limit of 500 songs per playlist on the mighty is weird to me. I'm not sure why I need to separate my playlist into multiple playlists because of the number of songs when it says it supports up to 1000 tracks, but only if they are separated into multiple playlists? I did have a weird glitch on my device once where during my jog, when I ran the track started to speed up and then when I stopped the track played at normal speed. It was fixed when I turned the mighty off and on again but it was very strange. So it is pretty janky and for the price that's a pretty big issue, but, I'm personally glad I don't have to carry my phone on my runs anymore. However, if you want to still buy one I might recommend waiting for a sale and probably expect some jankiness.

Updated review. Wish I’d never bought it.
Updated review April 1, 2025 Well, this little device has turned out to be one of the worst purchases I’ve made. I bought it for my autistic teen son, because music is his security blanket. You need to know how vital it is that he has his music, because he cannot function without it when we are in unfamiliar surroundings or there is a different plan in his daily schedule. Music keeps him regulated. And it eases the stress on me, his caregiver and mom. This device only worked well for a few months, then it would randomly stop working. The clip on the back came off, which made it difficult to keep track of the device. Customer service sent me a new one free of charge, which was appreciated. But the “broken” days are more frequent than the working days. I’ve had no end of trouble with it, and we take exceptional care of it. I’ve done all the things customer service has told me to do, and nothing makes it work consistently. It is truly an awful product. And my son is having more raving meltdowns because we cannot anticipate when it will suddenly stop working. So we are on the hunt for a different music device (one without a screen, because he is screen-addicted). I wish I could give more! I doubted this little thing, but it’s a powerhouse. Got it for my teen ASD son who has a screen addiction. Up til now, he used my phone to listen to his Spotify playlist, which he’d tell me to switch up (I played DJ). I wanted him to have more control over his music, plus I wanted my phone back. Ordered this before our vacation, and it worked beautifully. Pros: Holds multiple playlists Connects to Spotify Clip on back to attach to your clothing or bag No screen Simple buttons Charges quickly Several hours of play on one full charge Playlist upload is quick and easy Cons: Very tiny and easily misplaced if not careful It’s basic and easy to use. Reminds me of the old iPod shuffle.

Decent hardware, the app function and customer service need work
Like others have said, this is a cute concept but fiddly to set up. Although it says it will work with Amazon Music, in my experience it will only function with Spotify Premium (you have to buy a premium account costing about $12/month after the free trial). The thing itself is attractive to look at, and cute in design and color choices -- I bought it for a kid heading to a screen-free summer camp. It fills a gap in the market since Apple stopped making standalone, wifi-free iPods. BUT it is let down but a glitchy setup/sync experience, poor trouble-shooting advice on line and unresponsive customer service. Since the product advertises itself as working with Amazon Music and being able to play audiobooks, we initially hoped it would work with our kid's extensive Audible library -- no such luck. Oh well. We set up an Amazon Music account and created a music playlist in that, then tried to sync with Mighty. Cue several hours fiddling with the app, deciphering the constantly blinking lights, following various online troubleshooting tips, turning the device off and on, uninstalling and reinstalling the app etc. After three hours, it still would not sync a single track (oddly, it would dutifully copy the name of a playlist while sadly informing me it "contained no songs"). After some cursing, and waiting in vain for any response from Mighty customer service, I tried again a few days later, this time creating a new Mighty account and (more cursing) signing up for Spotify Premium. This time, the device worked as advertised and uploaded a couple of playlists. To be fair, once the sync was finally done, the playback is good quality and clear. Hopefully it will survive camp. For anyone else struggling with set-up, here's what seemed to work for us: -- Use Spotify not Amazon Music. (It seems like the device was originally set up to link with Spotify Premium, and this is what is mostly referenced in third-party troubleshooting recommendations. You need to set up Spotify Premium on a computer, then go back to your phone to install the Mighty app and link it to Spotify, then sync to the device itself); -- If you are looking to use Mighty for audiobooks (this was the main thing my kid wanted it for), you'll need to use Spotify's selection: once you have them in your Spotify library, you can transfer them to Mighty using the "podcasts" heading in the app; -- Do your syncing at a time when your internet connection is strong and uninterrupted, ie when nobody else in your household is streaming anything. I finally got ours to work at midnight after all the other device users in the house were asleep. -- If all else fails, try pairing the device with a different phone. I don't know why but it seems like this is what worked for us in the end.

AWESOME way to listen to music.
I received this as a Christmas present in 2023, and yes, it is still working. This is an incredible way to get away from your phone, and is a worthy investment. At some points I have downloaded probably over 10 playlists, and hours and hours of songs, and it still functions well, though it can sometimes be a bit glitchy. (If you download a ton of music.) I should also note that it also works well with podcasts, and the audio is really good. You do need to connect through the app first, but I also love connecting it to bluetooth speakers. Highly recommend!

Good idea, Terrible execution
I love the idea of being able to connect all of my spotify content to mp3 player for work. My job requires that we are offline on our mp3 players so Mighty should be a great way to listen to music, audio books and podcasts offline, and it is...when it works. I have a hard time getting it to connect to upload anything. Once I'm done with book I did manage to get downloaded there is no easy way tod delete them . Today I got a message that I need to renew the licensing agreement with spotify....1 hour into my work day so I couldn't listen for the rest of the day and when I did get home and try to fi d where to renew the licensing with Spitufy. It was impossible to find. This device is way too glitch and way too expensive for all of the headaches and frustrations it causes. I am going back to my sandisk. I'll keep mught to use as a backup, if I ever figure out how to renew the licensing with Spotify. Please Mighty, fix all of these errors. The potential to be a great mp3 player is high, but it will take a lot of updating.
