Better than most, don’t get mushy very quickly
These hold up way better than other paper straws I’ve used. They don’t get soggy as quickly, but keep in mind that they are basically paper so they don’t hold up like plastic. BUT, they’re not plastic so I’m cool with it. Good straws.

Great straws!
Love these straws. I've tried a few bamboo and these don't collapse in my warm/hot drinks! No flavor, hold up just like plastic. Great product!

Multiple uses, ecologically great
I bought these straws to make a shelter for Mason bees to use to lay their eggs. This species lays one egg at a time, and seals it off inside its own chamber, with mud. The solitary female Mason bees like places of the right diameter, to lay their eggs. Straws will work well. I bought a premade shelter, last year, and this year, bought the straws to make an inexpensive homemade bee home. The Mason bees are native to this area, and don’t sting, because after they lay their eggs, they leave them to hatch on their own, so they have no territory to protect. The remaining straws are great for iced drinks, and hold up well. When discarded, they will naturally decompose, so they can go in the composting bin. Inexpensive, and useful to humans who need straws. These are preferable to plastic straws, which become forever garbage. Secondly, they are great for making Mason bee habitat. This would be a fun project, even with a young child, as a way to teach kids about different species of bees we have, and how to help protect them. A project like this is one a child will remember, because he or she is actually able to do it, then later, see it used by Mason bees which will find it. Amazing that inexpensive straws made from biodegradable bamboo, can be used to help kids learn how to protect the environment! I still remember the basic principles about how weather instruments work, because my mom helped me make home-made ones from household materials, when I was in the third grade! These straws, made of bamboo, are just the right stiffness and sturdy enough to be comfortable to use in an iced drink, and also help the environment, by avoiding plastics, and if you’re adventuresome, to use to make your own backyard Mason bee home! (Tip: put the straws in a clean, used can, to protect the straws, and tipped down, so rainwater will drain off, and attach the bee home off the ground, close to flowering plants. Also keep an area close by, where the ground is watered, for the Mason bees to harvest mud to seal off each egg they lay. It’s fun to check back, throughout the summer, and find that bees actually will find the bee home and use it!)

Eco-Friendly & Surprisingly Durable!
I’m so glad I switched to these EcoPreps bamboo fiber straws! They’re completely plastic-free and compostable, which makes me feel good about every sip. Unlike some eco straws I’ve tried, these don’t get soggy halfway through my drink—they hold up well in cold beverages and even smoothies. The pack of 150 is generous, so I’m stocked for a while. Plus, they look stylish and natural, which is a nice bonus. If you want an easy way to go green without sacrificing convenience, these are perfect!

Weird taste
I purchased these straw’s because they are NOT plastic. When I got them I was really excited to try these bamboo fiber straws that are totally biodegradable. I tried a straw with a glass of water and to my dismay, I tasted a slight chemical after taste (and it was not the water). I tried another straw, same thing, chemically taste on the straw. Oof. Perhaps it is the glue or binding material used in forming the straws. But whatever it is, it not pleasant and is not enjoyable. Too bad. I cannot recommend. UPDATE: The seller responded to my review and that was reassuring that they care about the quality of their product. As per my review, I later came to the same solution to remove the chemically taste of the straws. Rinsing the straws before I use one helped greatly and I can enjoy my drinks now. So, I can now recommend these environmentally friendly straws . Also the seller was great in helping to resolve my complaint.

Works as good as the plastic straws I used to get
These straws are bamboo fiber, with zero taste or smell. They resist mold really well (as opposed to plastic straws). They work perfectly in cold liquid, and are strong in thick liquid. They might collapse if you go from a cold liquid to a piping hot one, but the shape is malleable, so it gets "round" again as you use your lips and teeth to quickly form it. The box is not sealed with shrink wrap, being that this is a biodegradable product, including the box. Nonetheless, the cardboard “fit” is well sealed upon arrival. The straws are long lasting. I had a box for two years, and by then, some cracking occurred; but that's a long time to hold on to them anyways. Finally, they don't stain easily, retaining their original color. Verdict: way better than any other kind of disposable straw, especially with the reasonable price tag.
