Great little plugs
I use these plugs to block unused 1/4" jacks in all of my equipment and they work great. These provide enough resistance to stay put, but are also easy to remove with a slight pull. They are also the perfect length, long enough to provide good insertion, but not too long to activate a 1/4" switched connection. Two reasons why I purchased these plugs; (1) to keep unwanted dust and debris from entering the unused jacks and (2) also prevent me from connecting my equipment incorrectly on a dark stage . For example, one of my powered mixers has both 1/4" (speakon) jacks and amp patch jacks on the rear panel. Multiple times (during quick set-ups), I have plugged the speaker wires into the wrong jacks. Ever since I installed these plugs, that doesn't happen anymore (see pic)

I used these as a way to fill unused inputs on my mixer. SEE MY LIST OF OTHER DUST PLUGS
I HATE DUST ,BUT I'M TOO FORGETFUL/LAZY TO REMEMBER TO DUST MY ELECTRONICS. :/ SEE MY LIST OF OTHER DUST PLUGS AT THE BOTTOM. Recently, I noticed all of the dust getting into all of the open jacks on my occasionally-used small mixer, so I bought these. If you saw my uploaded pic, you can see that I also found other items on Amazon to fill the XLR and RCA jacks. HERE'S A LIST ALL OF THE ANTI-DUST, JACK PLUGS I USE. For XLR female jacks: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TFSLLQ/ For 1/4" jacks: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y0CH9GW/ But for less-often accessed stuff like the back of amps, cabs or pedals www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040CTVRW/ For RCA jacks: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074Z5473W/ For RJ45 (computers, modems, routers, etc): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071GW537F/ Electrical outlet plugs: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00081J3N6/

Poor fit
They are too small and fall out easily. Moving an item on a cart 5 feet jiggled them out.

they do the job
they are kinda tight. too tight for my taste. it feels as though you have to force them into the 1/4 jack plug. im a little scared of damaging them actually. my window to return has closed if not i woulda prob returned them. im def going to be on the lookout for a better solution

Prevent accidents?
My young girls aren’t shy about helping themselves to the music equipment, which is great. But there are a few ports I would rather them avoid plugging into (speaker out). Not that they have ever done this, but it sets my mind at ease. They are short enough that they don’t engage the headphone jack, yet stay firmly in place. They are great. I don’t know why a tiny piece of plastic is so much, but whatever. I’m glad I got them.

Great Way to Close Off Unused Jacks
I'm using these on a guitar preamp pedal that has about 7-8 open/unused jacks. These really help me from having to constantly double check where I'm plugging my cables. Now I close off the ones that I'm not using. A great solution. Wish I'd found them sooner.

handy for fool-proofing
When I loan out equipment, no amount of instruction is enough for the average person. These plugs help close off the "wrong" jacks.
