Works well right out of the box
I love this machine. I have only been using it for about 2 weeks but love it already. Makes a beautiful stitch right out of the box. Easy to thread. The needle threader is a bit hard to get used to. The instructions in the book do not show enough detail, however, it is something that you can figure out with repetition and by paying attention. The needle threader is not like the one on my Janome Memory Craft 6500 - but it does work well. The 500E comes with 4 hoops, which is REALLY nice. Didnt have to buy those separately. The pre-loaded patterns seem to be nice and stitch out well, although I do not generally use them. My previous machine was not a Janome so I have separate software that I use to convert my purchased patterns. The preloaded fonts are just OK. But again, I have a large library of my own that I generally use. The thing that I love the most that is different from my old machine is that this 500E cuts the thread between words or patterns and there are no jump stitches to deal with.

Love my machine I had 2 brother embroidery machine when I tell the Janome is better faster on doing my work so worth buying

Bad assembled parts
I was so happy to receive my machine , first it was a missing bundle , second when I take the machine outside the box I found that the pieces are not assemble correctly , I don’t want to touch it because I don’t think that piece is supposed to be removable , Amazon said that I have to return it and order again , be careful when you order that they come from third parties
